SWAT got a call about Christian Baty planning harm to his girlfriend and kids, but they couldn't find them, and Baty denied it. However, this led to finding out he was making a bomb! #SWAT #Action #Shorts #ShemarMoore
"how much property damage can we possibly cause" I mean honestly, why use a breaching charge on the door, let alone a fookin battering ram machine, when you could've just used a handheld ram on the door or broken a window. Ridiculous lol
The "prank" SWAT call implied that the home owner was holding his girlfriend and her kids hostage at gunpoint. They did a breach on the assumption of a hostage rescue situation.
I'm sorry, somebody called in a barricaded suspect with hostages and the FIRST thing that happens is a full fledged SWAT assault including knocking down a wall with heavy equipment, which risks compromising the ENTIRE structure of the house? These guys forget that they have sniper scopes? There were plenty of broken windows during that assault, maybe look through one before you smash it next time.
For anyone wondering, it was lieutenant lynch (one of the teams commanding officers) that called in a family hostage situation because she knew this guy was making bombs, but couldn’t get a warrant due to lack of evidence .. literally 10 seconds after this vid ended, they end up finding a bunch of wires, pipe bomb bodies and caps, and a bunch of other generic bomb making materials the producers always use in movies and tv shows lol
SWAT breaking into the house be like: REALITY: "okay team, we have hostages, we need to be careful. Try to get a visual with a drone. I want snipers in position." MOVIE/SERIES: "Go! Go! Go! Tear down the f*cking house and get ready to barge inside! We have to get that son of a b*tch and save the hostages! Now!"
You’re correct that this is unrealistic you’re just wrong on the reason. There are 2 types of entry into a hostage rescue situation, covert and overt, we’ll get to that later. Now the unrealistic part here is that there’s no perimeter, any time SWAT goes in they have a perimeter set up to ensure no one escapes. You’d have snipers posted around and your SWAT team on standby. Now onto covert/overt, we’ll start with covert (cus it’s the boring one), in a covert entry you attempt to make entry without detection, you attempt to clear as much of the building as possible before anyone inside knows you’re in there, this has the advantage of getting you a lot closer before the action starts but the disadvantage of being slower. Now an overt entry is what you see done here, you’re going in with maximum shock and awe: flash-bangs, gas potentially, multiple entry points. In US army battle drill 6 enter and clear room it dictates that you should never use doors or windows to enter a building and to always create an alternative entry point by removing a section of wall or going through the roof. Now SWAT doesn’t necessarily need that as much because suspects and soldiers are totally different and whilst soldiers will likely be in a squad and can cover multiple entry points the same is not generally true for suspects, making an alternative entry point may however be advisable if it gets you to the hostages quicker
