I’d feel much better in swat than in the military because I’m not serving national interests of politicians and destroying infrastructures of other government. I’d actually be saving people.
Ken Kaneki getting shot at and having people call you names and having protest about you isn’t fun. It’s not fun risking your life for someone who hates police as a police officer.
I tried to find it but it's not listed. USUALLY, most team require more than two, and sometimes more than 5 years before you can apply to a specialty (like SWAT) as an Officer. Sergeant positions are usually Team Lead positions and there are few of those open. Usually an officer who makes sgt while on SWAT is sent back to the road as a road sgt and IF there is a TL spot open then they are usually invited back, or in our teams case, they are assigned the TL spot as a secondary. Our SWAT team is a secondary position (we're trying to get it FT) and we stay on our primary spot. Hope this kind of helps.
I've always said this since my days in the Corps. This kind of stuff is great for training, but not for testing one's ability under stress. And, here's why. Shooting in place, at a target that doesn't move, is a great start, however... Running in PT shorts and shirts will never simulate running in gear. No SWAT officer ever performed numerous pushups during the course of an event. Monkey bars...really?!? Crawling under a netted ghillie suit...please. Carrying a dummy with straps versus the 2 arm method??? Most training is always done on nice sunny days...why?!?

Military Police is a joke just glorified security guards. I was one for 8 years. Most probably 99% of police departments will not let you be on any specialty squad until you do some time on patrol 2-3 years. so if you think you are going to get out of the military and go right into SWAT get that out of your heard right now. Also look up the requirements for whatever specialty you want to do most departments have a website and tell you stuff like that.

@@duquntv4147 It depends on the length. A lot of departments are starting to relax on the rules. As far as I'm aware you can have long hair but for men, it can't be long enough to touch your collar such as if you're wearing a dress shirt.
@@duquntv4147 I recommend that if you're going to have long hair you should also train in martial arts to know what to do in case someone grabs your luscious locks during a fight.

@@guestmiller2845 hahah good job but being in the Marines,Navy,Air Force,S.W.A.T. team,ect is a life risking job we're risking our own lives by joining the service but we gotta serve our country
I'm always hungry for more, while I was enlisted in the Marines I went through every physical training I could that my body could endure. I unfortunately came to the end of the road when I was not selected for MARSOC, after going through the brutal A&S period. Now that I am out, I'm looking for more. This definitely looks like a challenge and a good way to support our community. Good luck to everyone that decides to join!

Don’t feel bad, man. At least you tried and know your character. I went through Army’s PSYOPS and did not get selected. After 12 years of active duty I decided to join the PD 👍🏽
Remember Swat is the real thing, do your research before wanting to join or thinking of joining swat, if you want to join because your friend is or wants to join, no your shouldn’t do that, this job is life risking and without skill or goofing off while in the job could get you or your team killed

I was on a SWAT team for 13 years. I remember all those times we had to crawl along cables upside down. Cmon people. Keep it realistic. Otherwise it's dumb. It really is. We are all grown ups now.
yes this is tougher than the Army and the Air Force. You actually have to be in some kind of shape to pass SWAT. The Army needs people so bad they are just pushing people through basic who get to their units and can't pass the physical fitness test.
@A B the whole military has gone to shit. I came in June 2007 by August 2019 I couldn't take it anymore. Out of shape disrespectful soldiers who don't listen and if you discipline them you get in trouble. At least that aas my experience with it.
I want to do swat do you recommend doing military first or college then just po to swat ik you don’t have to have a military backround but is it more beneficial should i do that?
Learn to climb things, transition between running sprints/carrying heavy objects/crawling/climbing/fighting, etc. It's combining events and doing completely different activities back-to-back that trips most people up.
