Body roll is not weight transfer. If you had equally soft or stiff sway bars on the front and rear axles and the car experienced the exact same steady-state amount of lateral g-force, there would be the exact same amount of lateral weight shift over the front and rear axles. What sway bars do is allow you to affect the distribution of the lateral weight transfer over the front vs rear axle. Again, if we stick to steady-state for the moment, stiffer front than rear sway bars will cause a greater percentage of the lateral weight transfer to occur on the front axle than the rear, leading to a larger reduction of grip on the front than the rear, moving the steady-state lateral g-force behavior of the car in the direction of understeer. Increasing or decreasing the stiffness of the sway bars on both ends simultaneously will change the speed with which weight transfer occurs for a given lateral g-force impulse (i.e the transient behaviour of weight transfer). The axle that is softer than the other will experience more roll than the other and the axle that rolls more will experience less lateral weight transfer than the other. But to hammer in the point that body roll is not weight transfer, imagine you attached sway bars that are infinitely stiff, so that body roll is impossible. There would still be lateral weight transfer in the presence of lateral g-force. The determining factors of weight transfer are only the height of the center of gravity in relation to the contact patches and the track width of the car. These two variables alone determine what the amount of lateral weight transfer will be for a given lateral g-force (which is why race cars try to lower the c.g. as much as possible and increase the track width as much as possible or permitted). In effect, what this means is, weight transfer is invisible and is entirely independent of body roll that may or may not occur (but in practice of course, always occurs in the presence of some lateral-g because nothing can be made to be infinitely stiff).

Awesome explanation Rex with you and I strong in the full scale car background, this is something we already know and you explain it very well without the full technical jargons that many may not understand. Great job Rex! Maybe one day we can see a video of your real car, maybe a Honda of which you and I also love.

To add to avante family or to wheel around or both? It doesnt matter its an awesome buggy and just like the original avante it has its quirks that made it unique. This is quite a performer though when compared to the original or many other options available

On a short course truck just street bashing should I remove the sway bars? I can turn without rolling the car no matter how I set them up

Hi and thank you for reaching out 👊, when you say “link adjusters” do you mean the ends (coming off the suspension) that get secured the the stabilizer bar?

Yup..seen em with height adjuster that connect to the suspension arms.
