Sway was a pioneer once upon a time... was very hip hop oriented but I just thought this beat was horrible. Of course there was a sample. Talented though...first uk rapper who was comedic and clever.
To find decent British rap you need to search: grime music. Best grime rappers at the moment are: Skepta, JME, Ghetts, Tempa T, Elro, Devilman/D E velopment, Krept & Konan, Kano, Wiley and other British rappers like Mic Righteous, Lunar C, K-Koke, English Frank, MC Bonez.

@zethanduke09 I agree that them Middle Eastern guys put Lowkey on a pedestal, but don't generalise, because I don't. Lowkey is a hip-hop artists first and foremost, hip-hop was founded on political rap - it stemmed from the Black Panther Party (albeit arguably). 'Bout "new subject", he raps about world issues which change everday, so every subject he touches is new! So don't compare hip-hop to grime, they're too far gone. They have similarities sure, but not enough to compare!
@barenoizedub Kano's album home sweet home is one of the best, if not the best, grime album of all time. P Money a grime legend? The same P Money who does dubstep 80% of the time? The same P Money who left grime after Ghetto destroyed him? Lowkey is good, but a legend? Lowkey doesnt do grime. And as for Mic Righteous apart from a couple of freestyles he hasnt done much either! Skepta however I will agree with despite the fact Kano is a lot better.

I only remember Sway from that Demo he did time ago. But apart from that, it aint all that. His time has gone. Kano does a little good track now and then but even his times gone. This new rap game brings artists in and takes them out before they even get anywhere. It's a funny game!
The fact you just put Griminal in the same league as Wretch proves you know shit! I fully rate Ghetts and Lowkey but I don't think there on Wretch 32 level. The only people that come close to Wretch when it comes metaphors, punchlines and lyrics is Yungen, Devlin or Krept and Konan.

Kano and Sway not ones of my favourites, didnt like their styles much, but Im addicted to fast rap/grime and I love it when they make it over dubstep, so I like this song! ...but I really respect them as an awesome artists!
Think you'll fine no one has been gone really, it's just the Grime scene has been coming and going itself (popularity wise) since early 2000's. It was the same with the Garage scene in the 90's which is where Grime came from.

The original is still the best, kano takes away from the same, especially cos of that autotuned voice. Also the lupe fiasco remix still aint as good as sway by himself
