Just proving that everything comes back around -- the powder trick is what I was taught to do in the 80s in Mississippi, USA (for those not from here, our summers are ridiculously hot and muggy. Actually, the mugginess is all year, it's just a question of cool, warm, or miserable mugginess.) I learned early on to put a layer of powder first, then foundation, then powder, then do eyes/lips/blush, then a final run with powder. :) Otherwise, you're guaranteed to find your makeup on your blouse rather than your face by lunchtime at the latest.
@@katherineseymour6239 Some of us are just jealous that most of y'all don't have year-round mugginess AND heat. (I have a friend in Nova Scotia who loves how muggy it is in her part of the province. :) She grew up in Tasmania, so she feels parched if the humidity drops below 60%. The worst thing about MS for her was that our "summer" lasts for about 9 months & winter is less than a month.)
How come that the older you get, the more gorgeous and hotter you look? I've been following you for YEARS and, damn, you look incredible. You're like fine wine.
I just love this guy. He’s so good at explaining his technique and he doesn’t go on and on like a lot of videos. He gets down to business and is easy to follow
@@ShayniBC after my skin care i start with primer, then liquid foundation. then I contour blend and powder my whole face. Basically "baking" but whole face. It NEVER cakes and my foundation stays put on my very oily face all day.
@@stephaniehomeier806 Thanks for your reply. I have normal/dry skin, but I sweat...a lot. I run hot, even when it's cold. I've done it my entire life so makeup and I don't get along too well. Luckily I have fairly nice skin, but I'd love to wear makeup that doesn't melt off of me. I'll try this and see if it sticks.
Ooooh! This will be a huge help. I've got a gig tomorrow night where I need to wear a full face of makeup during this insane heat. Perfect timing! Thanks, Wayne
OMG! I'm buying it TODAY. I am the whitest yellow-toned person you will ever meet. I have been told by actual professional muas that I am choosing the wrong color, foundation doesn't just turn apricot orange-yellow for no reason. BS. I can do it in 15 minutes. It isn't as bad now that I'm older & paler, (I can get away with cooler foundation), but once it hits 90, my face is a grease pit that's orange with maskne on top of it. That's right 64 & and zits, whopee!
I had to come back to comment on your video this time. While I didn't get Perfect Diary, I used the powder technique described and my makeup has been weathering the 90+ degree NYC heat better than ever before. I just do my morning skincare routine, (Shoutout to 'The Ordinary,' a brand Wayne introduced me to,) and a dab of DIY Primer (Moisturizing lotion, glycerine and aloe vera gel in equal amounts.) Then, press in translucent powder once the primer has sat for a couple minutes (I use Mehron or Ben Nye) and whatever I do after, it stays for hours! _This is a game-changing technique for me!_ I have always had issues with makeup longevity because I have a blotchy complexion I am really self-conscious about. Normally, I won't leave the house without foundation, pressed powder, and a beauty blender. This has made my summer 100% better! I will NEVER not pre-powder after this! THANK YOU, WAYNE!
@@lookingatdaisies9901 I meant Mehron Translucent Powder, or Ben Bye Neutral set or Ben Nye Banana. Since this comment, I have switched the primer from my DIY one to e.l.f. Power Grip, it's a sticky type primer, and I love it.
Perfect timing! While I usually don't try to fight the heat by wearing hardly any makeup in summer, I have to attend an outdoor event tomorrow in the midst of the heat wave and need to be more put together. Thanks Wayne!
Speaking of foundation - looking forward to Wayne Goss foundation coming back in stock (hopefully soon?). I already bought your powder and puff! Anxiously waiting to put them to use!
🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 thank youuuu!! By far the ultimate OG of makeup training 💯🔥❤️ Sweat proofing has always been a struggle for me to master, thanks again for sharing your expertise 🙏🏻🙏🏻👏🏻👏🏻❤️❤️❤️😉
Make sure you use a mineral sunscreen! I'm an athlete, and the second you start sweating, it will drip into your eyes and burn and sting all day. Miserable! The best one for the face I've ever tried is Australian Gold tinted sunscreen.
Where I live, the temperature can ho as high as 40 degree celcius and the humidity level rn is 85% 😭😭😭 needless to say my makeup sweats off before I even finish doing it. Will try this technique to see if this can help me get through these hot and humid days 😭😭
Love these tips as always and loving your new makeup and brushes! WAYNE-You should review the Danessa Myricks Balm Powder. I did an 8 hr wear test (with your foundation combo which was bomb) and absolutely love it but I wanted to mention how much of a game changer this product is for oily skin. So many powders primers foundations sprays claim to, this actually is time released bc of the Ipsalite ingredient. I think it would be a game changer for MUAs for oily skin clients. My skin actually looked better at the end of 8 hr wear test than before, blurred, and no oils! I had to mention it bc I think you'd love it 😊 Your foundation is so freaking amazing! And powder!
Thank you for this! Wow I need to try it out, my skin is so ridiculous oily, no primer works on my face. Do u use the Balm powder with or wo a primer? Appreciate it
@@maryblanc2289 Hi. Did you try using it as a primer only or also setting the skin with it? Just curious bc that's how this product completely changed for me. Also I highly recommend a tinted version over the universal sheer shade. But I noticed setting my skin with a damp sponge was the way to go for me 😊
@@DanielleNicoleMakeup This sounds like something I would like to try. Can you clarify? You prime with the DM powder, theWG foundation, and then set again with the DM using a damp sponge? Is that correct?
Your shirt looks so great on you WG😊 You are a trend maker with all your fabulous tips. Now all the copycats will come up with similar tips and flood instagram and tiktok 😁
Looks like a very nice foundation. Love the powder too! I may have that one already. 🤔 not sure. I’m always looking for a good foundation for my more mature skin. Love this video and keep on shining! ❤️💫🌟
L'ORÉAL had a blue translucent powder in their infallible range, and then it suddenly disappeared. I've been hunting high and low for it. It was amazing stuff.
@@emperorpatrisia5771 yea... their website says that. But instore it's not there and even when I ordered online I received the clear/white version. I was not amused 😐
I found out that doing that pre powder with translucent powder that you showed is the only way that I can wear most tinted moisturizers and balm foundations. I saw another You Tuber do this and tried it and did the sandwiching of setting sprays and powders and it works! I had a few foundations that I thought I couldn't wear because my skin was too oily by the end of the day and this method helped! I don't do this method with more matte foundations because I don't need to powder ahead because they're more dry. Thanks for the video!
Thank you. This looks great. I have hyperhydrosis. I sweat on my face head and neck a lot. Unfortunately I live in Australia and cannot get this product. Oh well. Thank you for your expertise. Greatly appreciated. May you please take care and stay safe.
Thank you very much for this amazing video! :)) As someone with a greatly oily T-zone, I surely appreciate it. However, the website is in the US and they only seem to ship in the US. Could you offer us a website that ships to Europe? Thank you ever so much!!!
I’m 48 and any liquid foundation I use seems to age my skin, even with skin care. Using too many powders can works against me too. I have found a baked foundation that works well, but sometimes I want to use a liquid to give me a more dewy finish, but I always end up with creases or just an ick feeling. So frustrating.
I also have mature skin - also can’t stand the ick feeling and the settling of most foundations. Try out Tarte’s tinted maracuja hydrator or the tinted moisturizer from rare beauty- both are long wearing yet radiant and make my skin look younger. YSL touché eclat le teint foundation is another favorite - all light medium coverage and all feel like nothing on the skin.
@tilly I’ll keep looking. But liquids or cream like ones seem to crease more and I don’t have that many wrinkles to begin with. Maybe I’m using a bit too much. 🤷🏼♀️
Love this. I am new here and so excited to find you. I am so excited to try this powder given my extreme oily skin. I went on the web site and found the powder but not the setting spray, can you send me the name of the spray, hoping they ship to Canada. So excited for all your upcoming videos. You make makeup fun and practical, thank you. Cheers.
I love this video! Thank you! I am writing this the first day this video came up on RU-vid. I used the link in your video description to go to their website to order the powder. When I tried to find the setting spray, however, I was unable to locate it on their website. 😞 Any suggestions?
Fantastic video, 🙏🏼 I always love your videos but this is a must try. Besides the heat making my makeup slide, hot flushes are a big nuisance so hopefully this will help. 😊
Hot flashes are the worst! I take ice packs, both frozen gel packs and the old school ice (bag) packs with the screw on lid, with me wherever I go! It's inconvenient, but it really helps to keep me cool and collected when I get overheated. I was in Washington, DC just before the 4th of July. I was outside in the evening, watching the U. S. Marine Friday Evening Parade at the Marine Barracks at 8th & I Street. It wasn't too hot and humid out, but I had my ice packs anyway. I was very comfortable. I wish I had seen this video before that trip, however. The heat and humidity really gets to me and I hate it when my face "slides off". 😳
Omg i feel you both soo much. I also get hot flashes but for some reason its specifically just my face that gets over heated. My family laughs at me because i always have a mini portable fan in my purse for emergencies like this, and i generally always need to break it out lol this obv tends to ruin my makeup as well since its my face that overheats. It really sucks
problem is ,is after I put on my skincare/moisturizer then my suncare i start sweating for like an hour it sucks not in winter really but summer definitely
Beautiful! I need a lot of sunscreen and I sweat a lot and I have oily skin to start with! So excited for my new powder to arrive so I can try this out! :D I'm so excited!
Looked up ingredients and the only difference between RCMA translucent loose powder and blue powders is the addition of blue pigment. Going to experiment with blue eyeshadows and RCMA powder see if it’s same effect for DIY. Worth a try.
Thanks for posting this video. I have oily skin and hate when it looks perfect when first applied and then 2 hours later foundation is a different color. So frustrating and embarrassing when you look at yourself in the mirror.
Love your videos. I’ve been binge watching since I haven’t been able to watch you for quite sometime. Love this. Wish I would have seen it before summer began. 😂😂 Quick question: what’s the setting powder’s name? I went to the website but i didn’t see anything that mentions the smart lock blue on their website. Maybe I’m looking at the wrong thing. I also didn’t see their setting spray. 😢😢😢 Thank you for an amazing video as always!!!!! I love to hear you your voice is soothing and it helps calm my anxiety. Hugs and kisses from South Florida. ❤❤
Gorgeous looking powder!!! It looked like the skin was airbrushed!! Is there any scent in the setting spray or powder? Really lovely and helpful video for summer!!! 💙🤗
Amazing technique. I never would have thought that you could use powder & then cream products. Does this hold up to sweat? Also any idea about when your foundation will be restocked? Thanks
I looked so ashy yesterday 💀. My makeup did not move i just had dry white spots all over my face I'm in Florida. I think I realized my mistake using a cream based foundation in 86 degree weather. I set with one size under Charlotte Tisbury setting spray
I will try this. I have cakey problem and I swear around my lip Area so the foundation melts and transfers then I try out extra powder on and it’s a mess lol I have super oily skin too. Tried every product under the sun
Im definitely going to try this, also Wayne it would be nice if you could show us how the makeup stayed on the skin by the end of the day x thank you for this tip
What about when you’re doing more of a glam look? If you do this before the eyes, how do you get rid of fallout without ruining everything you do underneath?
How do you prevent cakey look when you apply liquid foundation over the powder setting powder? I use the smallest amount and it cakes and foundation sits on my skin
Wayne... I loves ya darlin'. You are amazing! My face is a bloody grease trap, but this is utter perfection. Needed this badly. I work two jobs and I need to fool people with my little face.
