** I was recording a few songs this day and I forgot to wear my Megadeth shirt :((((( Oh well
Also, I think this song is perfect for the ending of the year because "hindsight is always 2020"
I really got into Megadeth in the fall of 2017. I had just discovered "Symphony of Destruction" and started to look more into the band. I used to kind of laugh at this song because in the music video, Dave looks like he's trying real hard to make the void in the verse, but I've really come to like it. I knew the song from guitar hero, but I didn't really connect the two until I was listening to their greatest hits on RU-vid while I was using matlab to do some homework for college. I've been hooked since then. I was supposed to see them with Ozzy in Milwaukee, but then Ozzy had to cancel due to his health, which was sad.
I then had to miss David Ellefson coming to Houston for his Basstory, and then I had to miss Megadeth and David Ellefson in Houston becaue of Coronavirus.
My college has two yearly dances for the undergrads and one of them is guy ask girl, and the other is girl ask guy, and so for the one where she asked me, she got David Ellefson to ask me to go with her thru Cameo (look it up if you don't know what it is) and he took time away from the Mega Cruise to do it, which was really cool!
Also, this summer I was teaching remote classes to scouts and a couple of the scouts lived in Scottsdale, AZ and I was like "hmm... that sounds familar". David Ellefson lives there and apparently the scouts knew him because they go to his church. If you have read his biographies, you'd know he's big into the church. I thought that was really cool, especially since I'd been listening to Dystopia (2016 album) quite a bit at that point.
As far as tabbing the song goes, it's fairly straightforward. David follows the guitars for pretty much the whole thing, and you can hear him well (I love how you can always hear the bass in Megadeth).
I had to decide whether I wanted to tab it in triplets or in 8th notes since the main riff is swung. I chose mostly swung 8ths because it's easier to read (to me) and the tempo is `60 bpm, so that's pretty fast to try to sight read.
Thanks for watching! Enjoy :)
