Hell, they make ME proud to be Norwegian and I’m not Norwegian. They’re just that good. We have the Marine Corps Silent Drill Team but they are actual combat veterans and train for years and STILL have a rough time reaching this level of precision.
Excellent show. My gosh, how they learned and remembered all those moves. That was one of the longest drill and band movement I’ve ever seen. Cheers !!! Bring it to the states. We’d luv to see that. 😊❤️🇺🇸
Well. The correct info is that it's 12 months service. Change every september. New music and New routine. And this is the shorts version for shows like this. The whole routine, called "The Ola drill" (I believe) is usualy dobbel in length.
Thaks my friend, i hope Norway and russia one day can be better friends, we Are cheering border toogetter and have longe history toogetter all the way frome the viking age too be proud off. God bless you and the russian people.
I think that it should be mentioned that the garde are all conscripts. The guys you see in the video have been doing this for less than one year and for one of them to drop a flag or rifle is an occurance that is very, very rare. That both happened here is bad luck more than anything else.
These guys are GOOD ..... ..... and this is from someone who was in the Royal Marines Corps of Drums for 12 years many years ago. I am extremely impressed with the drill and music ..... Another thing I have just noticed is that all these soldiers are roughly the same height, not like in the UK where we have some female military four foot zero, standing next to a six foot five inch colleague..
We have and are still invlovd in wars. In Kongo, Yugoslavia and latest in Afghanistan. On paper Sweden is neutral, but not really. Trough the cold war Nato forces could pass trough Swedish territory without problems.
@Joe Soap it's origin is Italy and it is a bowler, but it is buffalo hair not feathers. It was inspired by the Bersaglieri, princess Louise (King Harald's great great grandmother) liked them so much that she insisted that the Norwegian guard used them.
Its crazy to see their coordination! I'll bet His Majesty,King Harald V is extremely proud of his guard :D So proud of beeing a norwegian when it comes to our monarcy :D The most respected Royal family in the world :) :) :)
I used to be in the Royal guards. The king is rather indifferent of his guards, He shake hands with a few soldiers and walks nearby the rest of them once a year when they have the whole royal guard outside the castle and that's the attention he gives. As for respected... That's a really strong word.. I'd rather use tolerated and maybe their titles are abit frighting. The queen is a cunt as a person (atleast most that meet her and "works for her" that I've talked to have said). One princess made a school for learning to talk to angels or something. The king, crown prince and princess are okey though, but the country wouldn't notice much if they're no longer royals, except for less expenses in the budget. Could just as easily made a lottery for which family gets to be the royal family each generation.
Most dont and most Norwegians dont see Norway monarchy. They're mostly there for PR reasons and allmost cant demand anything except getting lots of money. that family costs us abit over 40 million USD$ per year. Not counting Royal army and a couple of other stuff.
brilliant, the best drill troop i have seen, they continue to impress, the sloppy Scots and Brits do not come close, too bad the guy lost his rifle there in the end, but he continued masterly, good job guys
What I love are the occasional flaws that happens that show they are most definitely human, but they recover in style every time. Like the one soldier in row 3 that misses their beat to raise the rifle at 1:55, but recover 1 beat before row 2 so it doesn't stand out too much. Or the soldier from 5th company that doesn't manage to attach their flag to the bayonet in time at 6:13, still performing throughout when it flopping around should interfere with his dexterity moves. The overzealous rifle swirl that discard a 3rd company flag at 7:00 The very unlucky soldier that dropped his rifle at 10:31 off-cam. (This one he probably got some correction for later on. A lot of mistakes are allowed, losing your weapon, in drill or in combat practices is.. frowned upon) But the way they all evade the fallen weapon without missing a beat is impressive ^^ The soldier even performs the armed salute with empty hands at 11:35 :D
