Thank you for the extensive explanation. I bought a sweden 304 webbing for hunting and buschcraft. I have been wearing it for sure for two years, the price was 10 euros. It would be ideal if the straps were reinforced and made of nylon. But it is really durable and tested by me in all weather conditions Really quality piece of equipment. One recommendation from me is to keep the leather part of the belt with skin cream, it is easy to renew it with any cream. many nice greetings from Croatia and I hope that the set will serve you for a very, very long time.
Swedish webbing predating this wasn’t really leather based. The predecessor was the M/59 webbing system. This was very similar to what the British used in WW2. Originally it was cloth belt/yoke/straps with canvas pouches but the canvas was eventually replaced with rubberized fabric. I used this system during my military service in the eighties. The thing I remember the most is how the sub machine gun magazines would slide out if you bent forwards.
Thank you for this. I just bought a Swedish RK35 backpack and this webbing kit because apparently they go hand in hand. Naturally I was clueless about how to assemble it and now can copy your set up. Out of the box its a fairly perplexing set of random items and I couldn't even work out where to start.
We got these webbing systems as aid probably and they were used by weekend warriors till arround 2015. when they were replaced by tactical vests because of the increased military spending due war in Ukraine.
as someone who has used these during shooting drills with ak5c, i despise them, and the ak5c magazines (aka the plastic ones) doesn't fit good in the pouches, (idk about the metal ones) i was glad when we got to use the stridsväst 2000
The alice type clips on the shoulder straps are for holding the gas mask bag. Many pictures incorrectly show these buckles hooked together as if intended to keep the shoulder straps from sliding to the sides.
@@PegasusTests To be precise, the clips were for attaching: "väska 06 till skyddsmask 51", i.e they were for attaching Bag (or Pouch) model 06, which was designed to hold the Gas Mask model 51.
