Hello, fellow Swede here! The batter should be MIXED. I think there’s a error in the translation, the Swedish word for mix is “blanda” which resembles the English “blend”. Blend in Swedish is “mixa” which further adds to the confusion. Also the bacon should be pre-fried, then chopped up and added to the batter. :)
Yeey Kay, a Swedish dish! ❤ But I have as a Swede who loves owen pancake never done it that way. I whisk the eggs with the sugar and salt, the put half the milk in and whisk. Then the flour abd whisk and then the rest of the milk and whisk again. If you want bacon in it I fry it first in the frying pan in bits and put it on the batter in the owenpan. I also melt butter first in the owenpan before the batter goes in. I also use cinnamon in my batter. Love your videos Kay ❤
What you can do with the bacon is that you cut it up into pieces and put the ovenproof dish and put that into the pre-heated oven and let it cook to perfection. Then you pour the batter over it. Then you have no added fat, just the bacon fat and the dish has been heated up and that makes the pancake rise nicely and not become flat.
Hello Kay, as it's summer, would you please make a nice afternoon tea, with little sandwiches and things, like my mum used to do..... much love ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Please Kay, I say this with love only. Don't blend the meat, nor the rest. Just use a whisk. And protect the pan with a sheet of parchment paper. Please.
Kay a pancake without sugar is not a pancake…It’s a crêpe, and yes most crêpes are savory not sweet, except for dessert crêpes, but again A pancake without sugar is not a pancake 😭😭😭 especially not a swedish one
@KaysCooking just keep doing what you're doing and try to be adventurous when possible. When you learn techniques, apply them in different situations and see what can happen! I used to rely on recipes but now I try to think of regional differences and everything else works out.
Kay your doing a great job. I have a very easy one for you to do. As you do most of your shopping at Asda and we haven’t seen much desserts here is a very simple one for you to try. Ingredients Asda flap jacks ( the ones that are small in a box) A tin of fruit. Preferably tinned apples or rhubarb . Three tablespoons castor sugar A teaspoon of cinnamon Two tablespoons of unsalted butter -------------------- Ice cream or pouring cream to serve Method Put the rhubarb in a small casserole dish. Sprinkle nutmeg or cinnamon over the top. Take he flapjacks and breakup in a bowl. Add a 2 tablespoon of melted unsalted butter. Mix well. Then sprinkle on top of the rhubarb. Once the rhubarb is covered with the flapjack mixture. Then Sprinkle over with castor sugar. Put in oven for twenty five minutes at 150 Serve with cream or ice cream. Fast and easy Would love to see you do this. It’s real easy to make and delicious to taste
I think she microwaved it first - that;s why there was all that watery fat in the tray next to the orange bowl. That was not raw bacon - it was partially cooked.
AS A SWEDISH PERSON I PHYSICALLY RECOILED WHEN SHE PUT THE BACON IN THE BLENDER, (the large chunks are what makes the dish good why would you blend itttttt)
@@seanrobison8558 why do people like you think genuine criticism of what someone does to be a personal direct attack on them? are you even swedish? we are allowed to say "she shouldnt put the bacon in the blender" and "shes a nice person" at the same time. stop being so soft.
Hey Kay, just want to remind you that it's a good idea to mind the raw meat juices/grease getting everywhere - major cross contamination here! I'm not being nasty or rude, I'm only mentioning it because I don't want you and your family/friends getting terribly ill from all that raw stuff being flung around all over (like your recipe was soaked in that raw bacon juice; I'd copy it elsewhere and throw that copy away).
As you would've expected there will be many Swedes here like me who immediately clicks on this video and see how you do it. You passed but I would've changed some things. Don't take what I say serious it's just for your best, I want you to become a great homecook. 1. Don't blend the bacon. You can add that but you have to chop it into pieces or strips and fry it and put it on top before you put it in the oven. Personally I just like it without meat, just the pancake itself but that's just my opinion. If you like it then go for it. 2. Don't blend the pancake, whisk it instead. You don't have to wisk a lot just so it gets blended and smooth. That's how a Swede would've done it. 3. You should also eat it with some kind of jam like some RÅRÖRDA LINGON or swedish ÄPPELMOS. Apart from what I've listed I think you did pretty good.
Hello Kay hope all is well with you, I love watching your videos, I have an easy Spanish recipe for flan, I would love for you and your son to try it. Here it goes... Preheat oven to 350F degrees or 180C degrees, melt 1 Cup of sugar over medium low heat until it turns to an amber color, do not stir the sugar, just whirl it in the pan, carefully pour it in a 9 x 2 inch cake pan, with oven mitts, it will be burning hot, so please be careful . With oven mitts on swirl it around in the pan and set it aside. In a blender mix !-14 oz. can of condensed milk, 1-12 oz. can of evaporated milk, 2 Cups of heavy whipping cream, 2 Tablespoons of vanilla, and 5 eggs. Blend for about 2 minutes. pour mixture on top of the caramel. Bake it in a bain Marie for about 50 minutes to 1 hour and ten minutes, keep an eye on your water so incase it evaporates add a little more. You'll know it is done when it has a firm jiggle. let it cool down at room temperature then refrigerate for 2 or more hours. When ready to serve, cut around the edge of the pan and flan with a knife, put a larger plate on top of the pan and quickly invert on a table, tap the top and lift evenly, and enjoy. There are videos that will show you step by step.
pea pie 2 TINS OF PEAS PUFF PASTRY TOMATOS TOMATO PUREEEEE RED KIDNEY BEANS (BLENDED) BEEF SLICES (BLENDED WITH KIDNEYS) MUSTARD (ADD INTO BLENDER) THEN ADD MIXTURE AND THE PEAS + TOMAATOS AND PUREE INTO PASTY AND COOK ON 120 DEGREES FOR 3 HOURS
I tried this the other day!!! Absolutely lovely meal and my kids and husband ate every bite, I’m glad it’s finally getting the recognition it deserves xxx
This looked right good, I love pancakes, they're fantastically round. I do tend to get them a bit confused with pizza and quiche though, just because they're round and that lot. I do think the best way to tell the difference between a pizza and quiche and pancake is that a pancake is browner than a pizza and has less cheese and unlike quiche pancake has no egg. You also don't cut pancakes into triangles like pizza and quiche, you just have them round with mince and boiled tatties. Fumbs up
Why do you have this strange obsession to flex your wit on Kay and Lee's videos? I went back to check a video of Lee's from 3 years ago, and you were there. So I started checking others at random intervals and you were there commenting in every one. This is a strange obsession you have
@@valdvald5896 'flex your wit' is a nice way of telling bonthornton that you think he is funny. Why do you think it's an obsession? Maybe he spends 5 minutes at the end of his day posting a funny comment. I think you have a strange obsession with bonthornton
@@nickp1999 That's putting words in my mouth, and I am far too emotionally aware of myself to need analysis feom others, thank you. But if you read and ingest the information I posited, by sheer happenstance I discovered that this person has been offering non sequitur anecdotes for years. Like, I'm here because I love seeing day to day life of others. Why offer anecdotal support that masquerades as being funny yet has consistently belittled the creators involved?
@@valdvald5896 Close your thesaurus tab mate. I'm really glad that you're emotionally aware of yourself, but I don't think you're aware of how much of a plonker you sound. Of course Kay and Lee are going to get belittled in their comments section. Are you watching the same video as me? Maybe it's time you stopped worrying about how other people come across and think about your own silly comments.
Kay, this is is a great first attempt. I would suggest not to blend the bacon, but to fry it up then put it on the batter before putting the pan in the oven. 😊
kay, my queen, my love, my everything, may we please have a house tour? ive always wanted to see how royalty lives xoxo hugs n kisses ps can u make pho? ciao 😘😘
Kay I love watching your videos. It helps with my anxiety and depression. I love the nicknames you have for some of the ingredients you use, like sputtatoes instead potatoes. I am worried that you don’t seem well compared to older videos. I genuinely hope that you are ok and able to make videos for us. You’re a lovely salt of the earth lady. You cheer me up when I’m feeling low in mood. All the best from Manchester
Hi Kay, I've tried some of your recipes and some of them are actually pretty good! Keep doing what you're doing since I can tell that it makes you happy! ❤️
There's a difference between "mix in a blender" and "in a bowl. Blend." I now see that may be confusing for some. There's some things as a cook that you don't ever do and one of them is put bacon in a blender.
Miss Kay, i just wanted to say that your videos are uplifting. Especially these days. Thank you for uplifting me. I hope I can do the same for you one day.
Would you make a creamy mushroom pasta please? There's a recipe on bbc good foods for it. It states cream in it but you could swap it out for quark or creme fraiche if you wanted too xx
Hello Kay! Try this: Easy sausage casserole Chop onions, garlic and carots, put them in an oven proof dish Put in lightly fried sausages Put in a tin of baked beans, one tin of chopped tomatoes and a big squirt of tomato puree Add chicken stock so everything is covered. about 1 pint should do it. Add a tablespoon of thyme, and one of parsley and one of oregano. Add a sprinkle of salt and pepper. Cook in the oven for 20 minutes at 200 then stir it all, and put it back in for 20 minutes.
