Hehe, Svenskjävlar is so good and a single can won't survive long here. Btw Salmiak isn't table salt but ammonium chloride, hence why you found it saltier than salt :)
Toms is actually originally from Denmark so actually has nothing to do with Swedish licorice but on the other hand "haupt lakrids svenskjävlar" is produced in Sweden so it can be called Swedish licorice but with that said I think it is very good of you Americans to try the world's salted licorice but respect from Denmark to you 🇩🇰🤝🇺🇲😁
You don't chew those first ones, but put them in your mouth and suck on them, they last a really long time then. They are also not considered sweets, more like throat lozenges or to hide, for example, the smell of cigarettes if you smoke.
I am so puzzled that Americans identify salmiak as "salt". Regular salt taste much different from salmiak. If those candies were coated with regular salt they would be absolutely inedible!
Svensk is "Swedish" and javlar is an exclamation that's more or less equivalent to shit or damn it. But apparently if you put the 2 words together its Swedish javelins.
You complete and utter babies! That is the good stuff and all. Liked the guys hoodie - I´m also in to mid 19th century German opera. But why the blond hair and moustache?
The philosofy behind the name Svenskjävlar is kind of like: -If you like your fancy salty licorice so much then eat this damn swedes! I love all kinds of salty licorice, but even i can't eat more than three of those at the same occasion. And, as mentioned before, it's not table salt, that would be yuck even for me!
