Would prefer a recording from farther away, preferably down the tail end .. this is too intense on the action noises and high frequencies. For instance there are a few extraneous noises (wood hitting wood) just after 0'30". A concert or chamber audience wouldn't, hopefully, hear the action noise, they would hear the strings and the soundboard in balance.
Thanks for your feedback! My goal was to make a intimate sound, like sitting right next to the player... but I agree that the instrument probably sounds much more beautiful further away. There was also the consideration of putting the mics in front of the camera sliders, so their sounds are minimally audible on the recording. I haven‘t yet found the source of the wood noises, but I suspect it‘s the wooden stand that‘s slightly out of balance in that position. On the other recordings I changed it and it doesn‘t appear to be an issue anymore.
@@LeonartMusic Ah, microphones and cameras at once. Personally I find the best 'intimate' sound is from right above the keyboard, ie somewhat above and in front of your head as you are playing (or where someone's head might be if playing from a standing position?), however getting a mic there may be tricky.
@@thomasdent742 Oh wow now that‘s a consideration worth checking out! I use a metal rod overhead for the cameras and lights; maybe I could also mount some microphones there. Thanks a lot! :D
