Amen, my backlog is so huge... i have so much shit to play... that i very rarely get a brand new game. I get them when theyre cheap and on the shelf they sit until i get around to it. Its more affordable and i cant justify paying fulk price unless i absolutely am dying to play something and or want to supprt the studio or devs. Everyone i know has a similar way of sping things. Companies just dont get how hard it is to be appealing and they arent even trying to market to their core audience.
ESG isn't about cheap loan interest rates, that's a very small part of it. ESG is a stock market ranking metric and a cartel ideology where they have to choose high ranking ESG business partners or it negatively effects their ranking. ESG is what makes these AAA games woke communist.
poe is theoretically such a good game, but i just stopped playing due to constantly having to go back and sell my garbage. even if i condition myself to not pick up anything whic his what you want to do in games like these. you should be able to collect a reasonable amount of trash before going back to sell it off. a large part of the appeal of arpgs like these is looting, and that´s just terrible in poe, you´re basically back at the merchant every 5 minutes even if you are selective. that´s just such a hard fumble it feals like deliberately created to get you to spend money on upgrading the space, but then you can´t even upgrade your inventory for money or anything, only your stash. and if the price was fair i´d gladly pay that, it´s agood game after all, and it´s the only thing you actually need to buy in the game, but you can´t. that´s just soooo idiotic and the single reason i don´t play it anymore. it just becomes a tedious chore.
Something you’re overlooking is word of mouth. 500k people saying fuck your game spreads to their friends and family. Imagine you’re at the store and you see a new game and ask about it and someone nearby goes “it fucking sucks because story, characters, etc”
Very true. There is a kind of bleeding effect in this regard. An adamant member of the group can pretty easily influence their less engaged friends to think twice about a purchase. It's actually a lot worse for companies than the raw math I did on stream.
