I’m 63yo now an these old songs never get old, like Sweet , Lead Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Queen, Rolling Stones, Tom Peddy and heart breakers etc, some young millennials are just discovering them nowadays……….New Zealand.
Tom ‘Petty’ was never up there with the rest, he seemed to creep in through a back door. Sweets were brilliant - Brian went far too soon but he burnt the candle at both ends - then Steve & Mick. Very underrated at the time but they started with pop hits like Funny Funny & CoCo before moving onto what I remember as disco anthems. Sadly missed.
Some people write "This is not SWEET". Ok! But Andy is not a magician too! Put yourself of him position. What could he do more than this? He is 74, and these guys try to do the best if you aren't deaf. At least they still keep Sweet's hertiage and good memories!. İsn't enough!?
I saw them live this summer and they were awesome. Most live performances aren't as good theirs and they are not young anymore, especially not Andy. I think it's amazing that he keeps going at his age and that he and his fellow band members keeps delivering the "Sweet" experience. It's wonderful for nostalgic long term fans as well as young fans. Is it the same as Sweet during their prime? No. 3 original band members are sadly gone. Does that mean that Sweet should not keep on going? No!
I used to love Brian very much just like other fans too. For me he is still the immortal and matchless lead singer of SWEET. But basing everything on Brian is unfair to the existence and effort of the other members. Because Brian didn't write all of those songs by himselves. On the contrary, Andy was much more effective in doing the songs. Otherwise, you tell Andy to go and retire. But I think we do not have such a right. @@donjohn2695
WOW, that sound is crystal clear!! Amazing 50 years later!!! Thank you Andy you are a legend in your own time! And your band sounds great!!!! I hope B,M,&S are watching with ear to ear grins!
Thank you so much Andy and all.. I love this. Makes me emotional. Yall done great! Andy you know the guys are smiling and proud too xxxxx love yall The Sweet was my first ever band to hear as a little bitty girl, Little Willy in 60s
I saw Sweet a few years back at the punk Rebellion festival. Honestly, I didn’t expect much, but wow, band of the weekend! Awesome from the first song til the last. The lads have still got it in spades 🤘🤘
Right?I'm so sick of people putting bands and last surviving members down for wanting to let people enjoy some nostalgia. That's all it is at this point. Aerosmith just had to cancel their tour. With a REPLACEMENT drummer no less. The only band I know of with ALL original members is U2.
@@jeffhodge7272 Exactly, I for one am grateful Andy has kept this going, and honestly the newer recordings of this song under his supervision are outstanding and rival the original. Although you can never outdo the original.
Sweet ? No 😂😂 this is Andy's band 😂😂 Sweet is☝️...... are you ready Steve.....? Andy ...........? Mick .....? Well alright fellows......lets gooooooOOOO ! There was only ☝️ front man of Sweet, the most underrated singer and performer in history, Brian F Connolly ! And only Steve could back him up like no other, and Mick was a very talented and unique drummer. Four brilliant souls, only those four souls created the magic energy called Sweet ❤ this is nice but many others can do this too, this has not the same divine energy of the originals ❤❤❤❤
This band is absolutely brilliant..seen the live several times in UK and they always give their all..Andy us the only original member still alive.. you cannot have the original because of this sad fact..but these guys deserve appreciation as they are truly a great show to go to...the shoes I go to everyone is up dancing singing.. joining in..men and women..xx go if you get the chance they don't disappoint.❤❤
There continues to be an audience for early 70s rock - melody, silly but memorable lyrics and a get up n’ dance rhythm - I’m glad I grew up when this music first came out - the youth of today is poorly served in comparison !
One of the most preserved bands ever...here's the proof. They may look older, but these guys never forgot how to rock! The vocals, the sound quality, the youthfulness...they still have everything that would make them a fun band to see live even after all these years. Great job guys. Much respect to you.
Andy Scott , seen USA , SWEET at Token Lounge and They did A PHENOMENAL Job on SWEET Catalog , taked to singer after , Great guy , bought raglan Ballroom Blitz shirt. Shared how I love your catalog but Desolation Bvld was really meant alot to me growing up . I wanted to see Steve Priest when he was here but it was sold out , then he passed . Been aying bass since 15 now 59 still playing , again the Concert at Token was GREAT.
This is such a great recreation. It seems to me that this Sweet line up is the best one for doing justice to the 1970's Sweet. Their new stuff is great too.
Sure, Andy is not to blame, but I'll never forget Brian Connolly. Saw them around 75 or 76 at Cologne, it was my first gig ! Guess I'll never forget it 🎉😢
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏🎤🎵🎶🎼🎻🎹🎷🎺🎤🎸🎸🎸🎸🎹🎹🎹🎼🎼🎵🎤🎤🎤🎤 BANDA Q EU TOCAVA E CURTIA MUITO QDO TINHA MENOS IDADE. AGORA COM 60 ANOS, CONTINUO ROCKEIRO COM MUITO ORGULHO. ESSA GALERA É DEMAIS!!! 👍💚💛😄
I was in my mid teens when this came out, and man you kept this "Classic" from the "Glam Rock" 70's "Alive" Great to see Andy Scott still "Rocking" after all these years.
Wow, have resisted watching any videos of re-recordings of original Sweet songs. But after watching this, I now want to watch more. An amazing performance.
Made my day to see this. A lively version sung live over a track as per the requirements of the show? Don't care, it was FAB! And glad to see they're all looking well!
Absolutely wonderful, I remember early sweet and for all there hits, songs ,whatever," they had a wonderful collection,, these lads keep the memories alive,,and they do a fantastic job ,and why not "why should you have to" oh ehh sit beside the fire" put ya feet up" no no "get out there live your full life etc no matter where you perform, and this venue isn't it wonderful beautiful
I was trying to refer to how the thing plays out in the moment, even though it's probably had bucketfulls of post processing to make it sound the very best it could possible be. A very enjoyable watch nonetheless. Cheers@@bphilippe3352
Was this crowd stoned? I agree, the band had amazing energy. The crowd as just sitting and clapping along to the beat - so lame. Get on your feet people!
@@douglasmeis7482 That's a german "Fernsehgarten" Show . Only for ultraconservative old Farts. A shame that they didn't invite the Sweet on something better. Like a retro Show .
Oh I sooo wish it was still the magic 4 they really rocked. Paul does a good job but he is not Brian, can Bruce spin the drum sticks like Mick used to do ? I have never seen him do it, Cannot wait to go see them in December Love you Andy.
It's great to see one of my all-time favorite bands is still going strong (albeit, with just the one original member). They sound great AND the other 3 look just as old as Andy so at least the visual effect (of seeing a band that's been around for 50+ years) is still there... as are the harmonies, although not as good as the original, but still solid. Great job keeping the music of Sweet alive!!
You guys are MY Heroes, especially as you have the last remaining band member playing with you, Sweet or The Sweet as I knew them were right up there with Deep Purple, Heart, and latterly White snake and Iron Maiden!!!! But U rocked my world in the 70sssssss
Absolutely fantastic! This paints a great picture of what happens to us all as we get older.. An audience of old rockers sitting at their tables clapping politely! Good on ya Sweet.
Hi everyone. I'd honestly just started listening to Sweet about 2 months ago. I'm a big Queen fan, but this group rocks as well. Its a shame what happened to them, but they rule :) Wish I could've seen them in concert. Thankfully, we have RU-vid, so we can still see them play. Ty. Rock on everyone🎸🥁🎙💚
They are really amazing! It’s unbelievable, how good they sound and performing! Lot of old legends after decades sounds like a bad tribute band of themselves, but this is not the case! They are incredible! Hat off, gentlemen!
Way to go Sweet (Y) ☠💥 There are other rock bands from the 70s and 80's still doing the rounds that should just be done and you guys are still rolling on putting them to shame . Rock On 🛤🚀
@@gmantramp404 Hey i'm not the one who comes to a channel to comment on a band i DON'T like . Maybe you should stick to watching Twisted Sister videos 🤡🤡🤡💩💩💩
Andy and his crew can give the very best performance they can. But "The Sweet" are not "The Sweet" without Steve, Mick and Brian... it's not only the music but the members... but nevertheless give respect to Andy, good job...
Weird, rock'n'roll and a sleepy audience. Bravo to all the musicians. We love you. Hear you and I want to play my fuckin guitar. Play this song and Blietzkrieg Bop (Ramones). MAY THE CIRCLE REMAINS UNBROKEN.
