Bell bottoms - I spent hours picking out the hems & fraying the bottoms of my Levi's in Junior High; made myself a pair of elephant leg pants in 8th grade. Favorite teacher - Mrs. Lorraine Steele, 1st grade, Mentone Elementary, Mentone, California, USA; she was so supportive of my love of reading; my Daddy (career Air Force) received orders for Vietnam and we had to move just before the school year ended - she finished a couple of clay ashtrays we made using leaves as molds (we were in the middle of the desert, no idea where she found large oak and maple leaves) and mailed them to me along with 2 books which I still treasure; we kept in touch with Christmas cards and I visited her when I was in college. She is long gone but will always remain with me.❤
Ah yes the 70s in the Uk we called them flairs! Jeans with flowered inserts at the bottom to flair them. And yes I had some platform shoes, tank tops and wide belt! And love beads ! With my Farah Fawcett flicked hair I thought I was the bees knees 😎. It’s my birthday today on the 5th so brought back so many memories thank you Pat . Heather x
Just now got chance to watch & it's nearly bedtime! Super nice video & I love your tulips! Childhood memories block is awesome. Older sister & I, we were older teen in the 70's & didn't wear bell bottoms, don't remember why😮; but our younger sister wore them (5 years younger). Mrs. Atwater was my favorite teacher in elementary school. Had several in high school & a couple in college. So long ago now. Pat Sloan, hope to watch you earlier tomorrow! Have a blessed night 🌙
I was a kid in the 60s and had a pair of bell bottoms. Went to give you a like this morning and my phone would not let me. Phone has been annoying ever since latest update. So frustrating!!!
Just love the Sweet Childhood Memories quilt! I am relatively new here and will have to go back to find the earlier ones, but am loving your fabric choices and patterns, It is so helpful to watch you go through your fabric selection process with individual blocks. I do hope I can learn from your process and then I can make better selections on my own going forward. Thank you for sharing your talents with us, 🥰
I had bell bottoms and loved them. I have no favorite teachers. Not one. I have deleted all of my school years from my memories. I got great grades, I just did not like school. Couldn't wait to leave when the bell rung. If you put photos of all of my school and college teachers in front of me I wouldn't be able to recognize one. 😂 It always amazes me how people remember their names along with the friends they had in each grade. If you paid me I still wouldn't have a clue. 😁
I was taught by Nuns from first grade to ninth. Only my third grade teacher was not a nun. Some nuns were ok, most not my faves. But in HS, at public school, Mr. Ludwig was my favorite. But I also loved Mr. Denim, who was a great guy. He had 18 children!!!
I’m the Cindy from Iowa. I forgot to say The squirrel pattern is called Squirrels In The Park by Sew Fresh Quilts. There are two types of squirrels in it.
I was a young mother at the time, being the original baby boomer. I made myself bell bottoms, also for my 2 young daughters! Very comfortable they were! 🇦🇺
Since I was born in 1960 I clearly remember bell bottoms and we called the larger ones elephant ears. One day in high school my foot got caught in my favorite elephant ear pants and I fell down about 6 steps. I was so embarrassed LOL
I loved my bell bottoms. And, my 5th grade teacher was one of my favorites, too. I hated that some kids weren’t nice enough to her. She was great, Mrs. Whitt.
Fun visit this morning. I loved (still love) bell bottoms. My first pair was a yellow, orange and pink paisley print. My favorite teacher was 6th grade, Mr. Fix. I was a very shy 6th grader and he was so proud of me one day when he had me read aloud and the whole class could actually hear me. He really boosted my confidence. I love your red top, just lovely. Have a blessed day Miss Pat.
In my early twenties I took in the waist of my then-husband's navy dungarees for my younger sister and I to wear as bell bottoms - we wore them OUT! It was fun!
Bell bottoms ✋️, elephant ✋️, Mrs Clark grade 5💟 with her my reading really took off.😊 Liberty gifts pretty . I took a bit of inspiration from the beach house print as I'm kind of stuck on a tote I was making. Ty
The Peeps sewing machine! How cool is that? My daughter in law and I are about the only ones who like them in our big family. Yes, remember and wore bell bottoms
