About 33 years ago I was 21, working behind the counter at Discount Records when she came in- I didn't know who she was but everyone else did. She came around the counter and put her arm around me and someone snapped a picture right after she pulled her tube top down. That was quite a job.
@@jwwj30 Fortunately it was only 33 years ago- corrected my post. I never had the photo unfortunately, but I remember someone showing it to me after it was developed- I had long blond hair, and Connie with that big grin pulling me in with one arm and tits flopping around for the whole store to see.

I'm from Little Rock and I've seen her all around many years ago. She was gorgeous in her younger days. She was always at Murray Park roller skating in the early 1990's...

I'm about the same age as her and boy do I feel old after looking at her, I'm shocked, looks like she's ready for the nursing home. Most of my highschool class is frozen in my mind as teenagers, then I get to see one and it's hard to believe, we're all senior citizens now.

I knew Connie. I worked as the lead driver for Motley Crue, Metallica, AC/DC, Chicago, Deep Purple, and as a driver for Prince. (among others). One year on July 4th, I was in Little Rock on a day off and my wife and I decided to have a Bar-B-Q at the fairgrounds, Connie came by looking for the band and decided my Bar_B-Q looked better than chasing the band. So we had a big pig-out. Connie was a kindergarten teacher.
Funny how so many people are trashing her here in the comments but what about the guys??? Those dudes threw to anybody who was catching in those days, including underage girls. Why is nobody trashing THEM? Connie was having the time of her life doing exactly what she wanted to do... just like the guys. Why should she be shamed for it and not them? Personally I'd love to sit with her and hear her stories.

It actually was pretty common. To be fair, my first babysitter? 16 years old, and...well...also my first 'experience' with intimacy. I know this sounds repelling and strange perhaps today. I was 12 years old, and I'm simply being honest here: *these days? Someone would have gotten in BIG, big trouble if anyone discovered our assignations...I stg: i would have thrown myself upon her feet and clutched her legs screaming "please, NO!!!??? This was the GREATEST thing that ever happened to me in my whole life!!!" I mean seriously, I've told that story only a couple other times, and each time the same thing would be said: *well. Although, Not every groupie is exactly the same, and I have had to reflect on that. It has been pointed out to me that some are genuinely appreciated and protected as people, and I know I should not have been harsh or generalising the way I did...but I said these things out of concern at the time.

@@lindamorgan2678 , I'm just saying I saw her - from about 10 feet away - in '85, and she looked older than what she was. By a few years. And saw her again before the end of '80s, and again in the early '90s, and she just looked several years older than she was every time I saw her.
I love that song & crank up the volume every time it comes on the radio. Thank you, now I can put a face to that line in the song, I always wondered. She was a beautiful young lady back in the day, just wish I could have met her. I remember seeing Connie interviewed by MTV in the late 80’s. It may have been early 90’s but I’m gonna say late 80’s. I remember her and she was a school teacher at the time if I remember correctly. But just noticed from online search she passed away August 21, 2021. RIP CONNIE. rock with the angels.

@@calebhouser2729 Not quite, but I've seen first hand with some of my family and friends that took that road and it made them look years older and damaged their health to the point they needed transplants for liver and lungs and their health wrecked forever and some dying from it all. Man it;s great to see her here in a recent interview. I always thought she was maybe 20 years older than me but it turns out we are only 9 years apart. I gotta ask Jim Dandy about her next time I see him. We both live in Memphis and I see him pretty often, even jam with them at practice sometimes on Wednesday nights (before the pandemic). I've known Dandy about 37 years now and I always bring up Ruby Starr when we're partying and burning one. Rock on Sweets!

One of the oldest 64 year olds ( in this video) I’ve ever seen. Now you can knock me all you want, but tell me it’s not the truth. Surely she was sick in some way then, which was two years before she died. More power to her-she lived life HER way, which is much more than most of us can say. She will always be a part of helping me remember the Summer of 73 just before I started high school.
She was very sick at this point in her life. She ended up with liver and kidney disease she was a fair drinker and lord did she love her weed. The years of constant partying were not kind to her but she had a fabulous life and was happy. And in the end that’s all that really matters right? I'm thinking they may have changed one word to make this acceptable for general radio audiences. "Show"="Band." Well, it's one way to live. Once she was over 18, unless one could prove prostitution or the Mann Act or whatever, it wasn't against the law, and it appears she was able to make a decent living in her private life. (Anyone who's had to put up with substitute teachers knows when a good one shows up.) There are plenty of "virtuous" or at least innocuous women who have ended up with hard lives and died fairly young, so it's luck of the draw in some cases. I can't see putting oneself to a lot of unnecessary trouble and relationships, but if that was her ambition, so be it. Pity, though, that she couldn't make it to the 80s or whatever. My nurse/ nurses' aide friends always used to say that ladies with a "Past" were often the most enjoyable and interesting to care for, with the best stories.
Well if she is happy with her life good on her. Not sure why being passed around and used is something to aspire too. And her mother dropping her off and leaving her is irresponsible to say the least. The years dont seem to have treated her well.

Being Judgemental doesn't bother me, but in truth it's actually what folks used to call just good judgement which a few more people need to practice.
