Sweethearts of Navajoland - Social Songs, Vol. 5 (CR-7164) The Sweethearts of Navajoland: Alberta Wilson, Lillian Ashley, Darlene Juan, Eileen Reed. The Sweethearts of Navajoland, led by Lillian Ashley, are one of the top traditional singing groups from the Navajo Nation. Formed in 1989, this group has performed throughout the United States and in Europe including the Roskilde Festival in Denmark. The group's name was chosen because the singers come from the area surrounding Chinle, Arizona which is sometimes referred to as the "Heart of Navajo."

I Extend my hand in Friendship and 💞. I am Natoh Dine Tachiinii, Born for Bitter Water, My Cheii is Ashihii and My Nali is Yucca Fruit Plant. I was raised in Central Calif for my tightly woven Dine Family, education, training, employment, Urban resource/advocacy and I have made a million trips 🦓🦄to Beautiful Navajoland to learn my Traditional Family of my Biological History. This is little story of me, my Beautiful GrandChildren and Great GrandChildren As Grandma Begay I am still learning and evolving .... This brought a lot memories for me. When I was 7 yo, I would watch my Grandmother weave and we would listen to this song from KGAK. And eating Kracker Jack's too.
