Dagny, I just love everything you do!! That store is so cute!! Made me hungry lol. I'm just next door in Ohio so next time I head East, I'll stop in!!!! I've never tried mineral oil either and I have a beautiful cutting board and wood cabinets that have seen better days!! I will definitely use that tip!! Thank you so much for sharing with us ❤️
I too am a caramel lover!!! Those dry towels things are so cool. What a fun store. I recently reoiled my cutting board that my youngest brother made for me in his high school wood shop. That would have been in 1976. I still proudly use it today.
Thank you so much for sharing this video. My husband and I were eating lunch during your candy store visit. I love chocolate and I was drooling. Thank you for sharing the other part as well. I was born and raised in Oregon and I loved hearing you say Oregon. I do love the utensils your cousin makes!
What a fun store. So many yummy and beautiful 7. On my mother's side my Great Grand Parents were born in Finland and Sweden. What beautiful wood utensils. Thank you for Sharing. Please Stay Safe, Happy and Healthy. Have A Wonderful Day
Loved the transformation of your beautiful wood utensils when you put the oil on them. That candy store was mouthwatering! The brown & green keychain “log” reminded me of the chocolate& marzipan logs at ikea.
This was fun! The candy store has such a wonderful variety of goods. I wish we had a store like it nearby. I love lefsa too. It has been a long time since I’ve had some and I plan to make some with my grandmother’s recipe this fall.
I always enjoy your shopping videos but you know how to be entertaining no matter the subject. I watched Jenny's video for the first time and will be watching it now. She is a talented young lady! Of course, her video was about my favorite of all your cute doggies! OH, and I just placed my first order for a couple of items from Eleazar Wood Co! Thanks for the discount.
Wonderful video Dagny, THANKS for the candy store and showing us how to restore the wood utensils and cutting board. I think I would have picked out something chocolate and maybe gotten 1/3 pound of a variety of different things from the pick a mix. I do not like any kind of licorice, especially the black kind. That is one candy that I would not even eat as a child. It started with the black jelly beans. EWE!!!!!! LOL!!!! Hope you all are having a good day. Sending HUGS your way. I hope that I am on my computer on Sat. when the notification comes up. TTFN!!!!
Aww thanks for letting us go with you and Jenny to that candy shop it makes someone want to go stock up with a whole lot of goodies and something to try without going to a different country
I love your videos. The store was great and the tutorial was a good reminder to take care of cherished kitchen items. My husband brought me a spurtle from Scotland and I have been remiss in taking care of it so thanks for the nudge. And how cool to learn that you are fellow black licorice lover…fabulous!
Also, those wood utensils from your cousin are awesome. Yes, almost too pretty to use. Neat to see them come back to life with the oil. Forgot to mention the pigs. Marshmallow pigs....lol.....who knew?
I bought left handed wooden tools from a crafter many years ago. They still preform beautifully. Being specifically made for a left handed user makes such a difference! Does your cousin make anything for Lefties? If no, Maybe a new product idea for them.
I would love to find a set of left-handed cooking utensils! I have looked online before, but they are so much more expensive than right-handed utensils.
Suzy you're adorable 💕, love the shop as a Scandinavian mutt, I love seeing it all. Just love all the variety of things you do. Always wanted wooden kitchen accessories. Will have to go look.
Certain woods are good to make cutting boards out of, because of their natural antibacterial properties in the wood. Maple and beech are the most popular choice for cutting boards.
Thank you for the video! Loved the candy shop tour. I purchased some utensils from your cousin and I have not used them yet because they are so beautiful. You talked me into it. I am going to use them. I need to enjoy them! Have a great day!
I did enjoy the oiling of your utensils. I, like you, knew it could be done but I did not know what to use. Thank you for telling us about the Food Safe Mineral Oil!! The candy store had so many amazing items. I would go broke just taking a sample of all the goodies they had. LOL!!!
Thanks for sharing that shop Dagny 🤓 looks like a great place to pick up a treat or a gift for someone. I’m headed over to your cousins shop now. Those kitchen tools looked very tempting. 👍
Loved the video! The candy store was fun. I loved the mineral oil presentation. I did that a few years ago to my antique wooden bowl collection (small but still a little collection). I was amazed at the results! It was fun and like you in the beginning I used too much oil! 🤣😂🤣😂.
Thank you for the demo on re-oiling wooden items. I purchased a wooden bowl from you a while back and wanted to rehydrate it but was uncertain how. Heading to Amazon now to order some oil. Thanks again.
What a small world, I live in Astoria! If you and your family are ever in the area for a visit, I’d love to take you all for coffee or tea as a thanks for the videos.
Hi Dagny, I always like to watch your fun videos. It might be a good idea to tell us a few days in advance at what time your live session will be, so that we can plan to be online to join in. Also, regarding the restoration of wooden utensils, if they are a bit gunky, you can use fine sandpaper to sand off the gunk, then use the mineral oil to finish the job
Loved the store, all those goodies made me hungry !! I also love the wooden utensils and how they respond to the mineral oil! Thank you for the info and I will be ordering from your cousins!!
I really enjoyed the video sometimes I like to see other vids of shop with me and outings I really like your cleaning videos it helps me when I have items to clean thanks for sharing
Oh my.....I feel like my diet is going downhill on my trip to PA in a few weeks.....lol .... there were quite a few gems in that mix your own bin! But the bars were pretty enough to give as gifts!
Hi dagny that store was cool my 3 girls would go bananas for the candy it had a lot of variety thanks for showing how to clean the wood cooking utensils never knew about that those utensils looked really nice going to look them up thanks for another awesome video take care
Another awesome video Dagney 👏❤️ your videos are always so interesting and have so much variety and a lot of teachable content 🥰 I always look 👀 forward to them!!! Hope you and your family have a blessed and wonderful week. Suzie was so funny in the paper 😂 Love you all💗
Great video! There are alot of nice wooden salad bowls in thrift shops. Also vintage furniture. The candy shop was different but amazing all the unique candy & chocolate. I'm T2 diabetic so I don't step foot in these shops any longer but I appreciate seeing this Store! Change is good! Thanks Jenny & Dagny.
What a nice video! I love the candy store! As I told you , I am bringing my granddaughters to New Holland in October-may be a great stop for us! Thanks!
Love your calm teaching voice. What fun thing to see the Swedish candy! I would choose Zoo and Polly. Pick and mix is common in every store in Sweden Greatings from Sweden
Very nice Swedish store ,i very kuch like black salty liquorice, luckily we have a lot of it here in the Netherlands.Lovend the handcrafted woorden utensils!
Great demo🙂 Been meaning to get some food grade mineral oil but I do use EVOO to do the same and it works fine; just have to use sparingly and give an extra good wipe down.
This is so great! One of my daughters-in-law is half Swedish (with that white-blond hair) and I'm always looking for fun things to give her. I'll be ordering some tasty treats for her birthday:):)
