What are your thoughts? So, my first impressions are as follows: 1. Thesethings are built like TANKS. So crazy sturdy. 2. They are very smooth. It's hard to quantify the response in my mind, but the first thing I notice is that they seem very smooth, not harsh, but still have a good amount of punch. 3. They can handle a lot of sound. I've got the 10 db pad so hopefully they wouldn't peak, but just in comparison to some other overheads I've used, these seem to still sound really smooth even under really high levels. You had the same face I had when you reached this part at 10:28 😁. I know you were definitely feeling it to! I won't lie to you, I am a sound engineer at my church, and I was impressed with the sound of those mics. Even though the room you are playing in, is not 100% perfect for acoustics. I was actually blown away! I am actually using Sennheiser e614's for overheads at my church. But I love the warmth of your Soyuz's much more.
This is a great opportunity to hear the differences. I do think there was a loss of detail when you switched to the "Unprocessed Overhead Mic Audio" setting; the tom ring was lost compared to the full kit demo. SM57 on the snare is brighter and more detailed. It is my first choice from this demonstration.
I dont know if u have yet but could u do a video on drum triggers? Our church has a lower in set that sounds ok but do you think drum triggers with a sound module would make the drums sound more professional?
