I'm Polish, so of course I couldn't be happier that Iga won, but all the respect to Karolina as well. She showed an enormous fighting spirit, she gave it all. Congratulations Karolina, you can be proud of yourself 👏

Being Polish-American, I'm very happy for Iga winning her fourth grand slam and third Roland Garros title. She's also an excellent person and ambassador for both tennis and for Poland. Gotta admit that while I knew of how talented Karolina Muchova was, this was the first time I've watched a full match of hers and she won herself a new fan. Her game is awesome, and like Iga, she's a first class person all the way. Hope she can eventually win a slam someday.

I have no doubts that Karolina belongs to top players in WTA .It is really good to have her back and healthy. Iga on the other hand proved her dominance on clay and in WTA. We can't underrate her impact on the level of competition in the tour. Many players improved their games in order to defeat Iga and it's very good for tennis. Return to the tour a big caliber players like Karo is another important contribution in development of women's tennis.

Right.. I don't play now (after 25 years plus of active tennis & tournaments), seldom watch tennis on telly because of so many incessant grunters & screamers bother the heck out of my watching in peace, so don't have any favourites, but if there's one silent one & one screamer, I automatically support the silent one. Refused to lose? That's a good assessment of Karolina semifinal. Here Iga wasn't close to losing. Down a break, twice. Break point at 4all, yes. Still this match was anything but automatic. Refused to let her run away with it? Definitely

The whole match was an emotional rollercoaster 🎢 Iga was playing so well first set, ball landing bang on the lines, Muchova struggled to get into rhythm, made many errors and gave away many free points. Second half of second set, maybe Iga felt she had control and was getting closer to winning, forehand started to smash too hard, ball was flying everywhere. Muchova was playing more carefree, improved significantly - stamina was there, ball hitting was sharp and clean, had so much variety in her game. The running, the drop shots, she was so good. It was obvious that Iga started crumbling a bit - she seemed frustrated, getting rushed and anxious, started spiralling down. But then what makes someone a champion? How do the greats win? They calm down, they regroup, they come back. Final set she still struggled to hold serve, her first serves weren’t landing, but she kept her composure, became more strategic with which shots to chase for. She still trusted her own forehand, wasn’t scared to take risks and go big. We often see her bagelling opponents at earlier rounds, she was never tested or pushed to the limits, so we rarely see her emotions exposed. This time she had to dig deep, had to really work her way back up from the bottom, and reminded us how true champions fight. You may not be playing your best game, but your intelligence and mentality brought you your victory. To me her body plays like Rafa and her mind thinks like Novak. Well done Iga, what a player 🎉

The end of the final set in her performance was masterful, she played without a nervous system and won... this is what makes you a champion... Hopefully this win will be a deal breaker for Iga. There is nothing left to show, just pure freedom from now on. I think she will become unstoppable from now on, not that she isn't anyway

Yeah absolutely. This back to back French open victory is so important for Iga to prove herself and the world that all her Grandslams wins were not just fluke . Even now she retires it will be a fulfilling career with 4 Grandslams. Now she can play Grandslams with out any pressure.

Iga fought back from being a break down twice in the final set while Sabalenka choked (again) while being up a break in the final set. That's why Iga has 4 slams while Sabalenka is lucky to have 1.

Sabalenka deserved to win AO. Hot to start the year. Muchova is just coming back so she was able to surprise her with her game. Similar to US open Sabalenka forgot how to close out the match. You play until the last point and here again the demons were out and ate her emotionally.

What a great effort from both. Karo needed a time to feel her game but she was a worthy opponent for Iga as soon as it happened. Putting aside first set, it was a permanent rollercoaster regarding breakes after breakes. Publicity got almost everything as expected (except a super tiebreak 😉). Iga, your 3rd Roland Garros Grand Slam in the last 4 years is really something! Kudos!

Muchova played with so much grace and stamina. She nearly won it! This just confirms she's a better player overall than Sabalenka and her victory wasn't a coincidence. The Czechs have so many amazing tennis players for such a small country - I wonder how come?

Wish I'd been able to watch the entire match. Looked like a real tight, even contest, with lots of entertaining rallies and unpredictability. I don't really watch a lot of women's tennis, but these ladies sure can play. It's incredible how hard they hit the ball. Some stunning winning passing shots down the line and crosscourt from both players. Well done to both!

The final of the Grand Slam should not end with a double service error, but of course it's huge players' nerves ... Every tennis fan should pray that Karolina will not suffer any injury until the end of her career (everyone probably saw the scars after surgery on her shoulder today) because her tennis is unique compared to today's trend... And then we will see Karolina more than once when she lifts the trophy of a big tournament...

@@redeyexxx1841LOL, I think Karolina did everybody a favor by knocking Sabalenka out, I really thought it was some kind of a freak fluke/accident. Then I saw her fight against Iga, it was clear that she belonged in the final. BTW, Karolina had 6 ace’s in that match, that’s a LOT! Iga had 1 or 2, that’s it.
