After completing my Swift Playgrounds Game BugSmasher I noticed that Apple pushed a new update to Swift Playgrounds a few days ago bringing it to version 4.2.
I love that Apple continues to bring improvements to this app so I took a look to see what was new. Overall it's a fairly minor update to Swift Playgrounds (which is expected being a point update) however there are some nice additions.
First thing you might notice is that there's been a number of improvements to the UI and UX which is always welcomed. It might take a bit of getting used to as some buttons have moved around, but overall I think they're improvements.
Apple also continues to build their catalog of lessons and sample projects built into Swift Playgrounds. This update adds two new lessons - one on laying out views and a very interesting one on machine learning.
Machine Learning has always been something that's interested me and I'm happy to see Apple create a introduction to this in such a useful way. This project is simple, interesting and immediately gets you thinking about possibilities within the greater machine learning world.
Maybe I should attempt a ML project in the future?
