The day before Christmas and the weather couldn't've been any better. Nearing record temps, there was no way i was going to let it slip by without making some cast. Good thing I did because Santa delivered.

I need to hit the Wabash more. I never thought of it as good for bass. That's like two minutes from my house. See eagles quite often in the area. There is a nest about half way to Georgetown that I've seen.

It can be slower fishing than some of the other rivers nearby, but the Wabash is where I've caught some of my biggest fish. Theres some good holes out by the treatment plant. I have been seeing a lot of eagles in that region, which usually means the water quality is improving.

@@carbomb7211 It used to be pretty good, but the sand from the dam removal filled in a lot of that area up to the island. I've caught some fish there but nothing like the other areas.

It was a gorgeous day my man. The only thing I regretted was not getting out sooner. I love my Rebellion rod. It's done pretty well and has great action for these river smallies. That smaller swimbait and Spike-It combo are deadly in these northern water systems, and it looks like you're on to it.

I hope the weather stays nice for you out there in Indiana. We have some ice forming on the lakes again now, 8" of snow coming tomorrow but a warm up this coming week. It's going to be 35 tomorrow but I am heading out for walleyes and hopefully some smallmouth, too! We have northern pike here and muskies, so I always have dreams of hooking one of them but Idk if my leader would hold up. Going to use my Spike It markers for sure... 3.3" Keitech on a 1/4 oz head slow-rolling, rock-ticking, oops stuck again.... line snap trick cross your fingers, ooh it's free! And sometimes that's when they hit it! Happy New Year, btw! Keep on fishing!!!

The weather has been feisty lately, and the rivers have a rim of ice along the banks. It's a challenging time for sure. I saw the warm front coming next week, so I think that will spark some action.
