She was ironically the safest human in any ocean at that moment. No shark was getting anywhere close to her.

Sharks are barely any more dangerous to humans than Orcas. If they mistake you for prey, otherwise not. If you swim down to a great white for instance it will never hurt you. Only if you flail on the surface while vaguely shaped like a seal.

@@@sevenrats Not really. They will sometimes bite humans to find out what they are. If you get stressed and afraid it will excite them and increase the chance of them confusing you with prey. Stay calm and they are like tame dogs.

@@politicallycorrectredskin796 If sharks kills by mistake or not doesn't change anything to the level of safety. There are also no cases of (wild!) orcas killing humans. It's not even close to "barely", it's a lot more dangerous to swim with sharks.

I once worked underwater cutting away some steel when I got the fright of my life when I saw the head of a shark peering over my shoulder to see what I was doing. Seeing my reaction he moved off quick. But he kept hanging around and I didnt get out as the shark was only about 2m long. It was still unnerving to know he was around because as soon as I thought he was gone and could relax and start working, he would inevitably appear and inspect the work again - see the progress made I guess. Eventually I got fed up and when he was close enough and gliding past, I grab hold of the thin part just before his tailfin and squeezed. Man, they are fast and with a flick of the tail he was gone. But that was short lived, he practically bugged me afterwards like a clingey girlfriend... Once out of the water the other divers said to never touch them, they become super inquisitive. So I wont be jealous anytime soon. If they are really that close to you, its a different story altogether... an orca and I would be walking on the water...

Arun People often make the misconception that Orcas and humans have some sort of mystical connection where an Orca would never harm a human due to the fact that there have been no fatal attacks recorded in the wild. This is actually a very dangerous way to perceive Orca. Orcas actually branch off into habitual pods and nomadic pods. The nomadic pods are known for eating large mammals, sharks and seal and they are particularly fond of liver. While the habitual pods are more likely to feed on fish exclusively. The reason why Orca are not known for attacking or eating humans is because they are one of the few species on earth that are taught how to hunt by their families. Their hunting is learned behavior that is passed down generationally. Generally they are not around humans and are not swimming with humans on a regular basis. They also don't have some sort of sonar or special way to detect your internal makeup like sharks do for example, rather they have excellent underwater vision and use their eyes to spot prey in combination with their camouflaged skin that makes harder to spot at night. It isn't that they wouldn't attack a human or won't eat a human, it's that they have not learned to hunt them. It is wise to not think swimming with Orca is a good idea. Life is not a disney movie and these wonderful animals are the apex predators of the entire ocean and should be respected as such. The don't have any magical connection with humans and all it will take is the wrong place at the wrong time in combination with a bunch of curious Orca that want to experiment for a tragic accident to occur.

That woman is so blessed to have had that encounter with the Orca's. Never heard of a Orca attacking a human in the wild. Keep me locked up and I'm gonna attack somebody too first chance i get. No great white shark is gonna come near you with an Orca there, probably no shark will come near. LOL

It's a law to protect both humans, and Orcas. If Orcas swim towards you, it's fine. It's recommended that you get out of the water, although many don't. I know I wouldn't. If you see them swimming, you shouldn't get in the water with them. That interrupts their daily routine. It's to help protect the Orca.

Well obviously if they approach you that’s different but this warning is for those who after seeing this may wanna go out try and find wild orcas and approach them when they shouldn’t, there’s been no known attack of orcas on humans but that doesn’t mean we should go approaching them thinking you can just swim and have fun with them like this lady

This type of footage goes international. Unfortunately, there are idiots out there who could do harm to Orca. New Zealand Orca in particular are already endangered. So, they're highly protected. Laws can suck sometimes. But, they help protect Orca.

Damn that lady is a straight badass, 99.9% people wouldn’t be down to swim with wild Orcas completely out of the blue like that. She’s not part of some crew that was planning a dive with Orcas. These things just peekaboo surprised her. They must have realized she was special. At that moment you are completely trusting your life that a wild animal could end you in half a second and she thought nobody was there so if it happened in her mind nobody would even know what happened to her. Incredible.

If there were no regulations, dumb tourist would harass orcas as they do with other animals, just to get their 15 minutes of fame on Insta. Remember the guy pulling a small shark out of the water to take a selfie? That kind of people. Last month a women was hurt, swimming with a humpback wale and getting to close as he turned. She is hospitalized now. Regulation was 50 meters distance but she neglected that. Bad ending.

Awesome experience...a bit scary at first I am sure. Open water swimming can be so rewarding. I swim in lakes in the Pacific Northwest (surface water is often a black mirror) and once in a while a bald eagle will fly by me. Not as cool as Judy's but still priceless to catch these moments of respect towards nature. BTW Judy's a pretty good swimmer from what i could see of a strokes.

Color Sounds The humans living rurally in the tropics, with a high fruit content diet taste particularly delicious, but usually need to be prepared with attention paid to the fact that there isn’t enough fat on them... using coconut oil in preparation helps with that, or just deep fry battered chunks and dip in Malaysian sweet chili sauce and serve with fruits and veggies (like you would buffalo wings with carrots and celery) for a tasty snack....
