There was and has been systematic doping when I was there, but in some Case the coaches didn’t know, but most of time, Coaches knew the the plan but the swimmers were never informed or intentionally taking the performance enhancing medication apart from Few.
@jaxlone997

wouldn't athletes feel something is off if they unknowingly trained on these drugs? I'd be surprised if no.
@kimi1982113
@kimi1982113 5 месяцев назад
@@jaxlone997 no, when I was there, swimmers from the other side of team had no clue what they were eating, sometimes it was added to your meal in the kitchen and you wouldn’t find out. The systematic doping happed on the management level not like the athletes wanted to have it. Back to 90-20s, no individual athletes were able to access the performance enhancing substances, and they were way too expensive to have them. Something they used were 1500RMB per injection its like whole month of salary or more than that at that time for an ordinary family.

I believe swimmers wont take the risk for being banned for 4 years. Who would benefit the most? Coaches would benefit the most if their swimmers win a medal as they will become popular and a step up in their coaching career.

Something interesting to point out is that according to WADA, this case is not without precedent. In 2014, they accepted a similar case of contamination and positives from USADA which occurred on US soil involving over 10 athletes. They also cleared the case and nothing was disclosed as they ruled there was no violation / intentional wrongdoing.
@Zenix17
@Zenix17 4 месяца назад
According to Wada, the precedent in USA is a non-publication for a completely innocent contamination. The question here is whether this constituted a contamination, not even saying innocent or not. Wada in their most recent report even said they didn't entirely agree with Chinada's non-publication decision.

This is exactly why I've been saying remove Sun Yang's 1500m Freestyle WR and strip all his medals. A lot of people say "well he didn't test positive during that time" and my response is: 1. He's still a drug cheat 2. As proven with this situation, positive test results can come up from years ago. How do we not know that he has been cheating his entire career?
@XwD77
@XwD77 5 месяцев назад
I respectfully disagree. He has tested positive once in his whole career - which was concluded to not be intentional (anything else in my view is speculation and not based on facts). Now whether his 3 month suspension was too lenient, maybe, but that’s not conclusive that he was doping. In 2018, based on the CAS hearing case files, it states that the panel considers it pertinent that there is NO allegation that Sun Yang was doping. He had returned EIGHT negative tests in the two weeks leading up to that night and so the likelihood that sample would’ve been positive that night, the panel considers negligible. The Sun Yang case is complex and there are a lot of facts left out by the media. There is not enough evidence in my opinion to say he is definitely a cheat and should be stripped.
@officialdamadmanchannel6513
@officialdamadmanchannel6513 5 месяцев назад
@@XwD77 You have the right to your opinion, but the fact is that Sun Yang did test positive anyway in his career and there was evidence that he smashed his blood viles as evidence, which instantly proves him guilty and makes his positive test intentional. And if he was innocent, like any other fair athletes, he wouldn't have tested positive at all in his career PERIOD. Let me give you an example, why do you think Lance Armstrong was stripped all his medals, tour de france titles and banned from cycling for life? Because all it took was one confession and one positive test to end his career, and rightfully so. So why is Sun Yang any different? In my opinion, if you test postive once and it was intentional, you should be banned for life without any second chances.

@@officialdamadmanchannel6513 So should we ban Australian Shayna Jack for life as well? The 2018 case doesn’t prove he was cheating - the case files make that very clear. I mean, if people that just took your blood couldn’t provide credentials and another was recording you on their phone - how would you feel? Also, you are legally allowed to miss 3 tests. Sun Yang wasn’t home, his mother called him back when the testers arrived. You are allowed to miss 3 tests so why drive all the way home to give blood if you’re intentionally doping? Why go to all that trouble?

@@officialdamadmanchannel6513 So should we ban Shayna Jack for life as well? Do you have an issue with her competing at the Olympics too? I don't think the circumstances in Sun Yang's 2018 case 'instantly proves him guilty and makes his positive test intentional' - that certainly wasn't a conclusion of the CAS hearing based on court documents. I mean, how would you feel if people that came to your house at night and just took your blood could not produce sufficient credentials, and another is secretly recording you on their phone? Granted he handled it poorly, and that's why he is being punished (not because he returned any positive test). Another point I'd like to make - you are legally allowed to miss 3 tests I believe. Sun Yang was not home when the testers arrived at his house - his mother called to ask him to come back home. If he was intentionally cheating, why come home? Why go to the trouble of 'smashing the vials' when he could've (1) not come home altogether; (2) asked about credentials PRIOR to giving blood.

Granted, he did handle that situation poorly and in a volatile manner and that's why he is being punished - not because he was or there was suspicion of him doping.

China participates in more than a hundred events. Why only doping in swimming and not diving or weightlifting or ping pong which they win all the time? Because it all started with the asho american coach in the 2012 London Olympics who accused the 16 year Ye Shiwen of doping simply because he didn’t have a big enough digk to stand a lost
