Transfer a wheelchair user into a swimming pool using a standard Hoyer lift. No expensive permanent lifts needed. It takes another person to operate and control the lift and one person in the water aiding the wheelchair user if necessary. I'm able to get on and off the sling by myself. Be safe!

You've got a great way of getting over obsticles in a unique way. Please share more of these, theyre powerful and motivational. Simple tasks like putting on shoes can be a challenge for my wife who is a c6/7 quad. Your methods may very well inspire her. Thank you.

Wow amazing! It must be so great freedom feeling to get into water and swim! No wheelchair or other equipment at all is needed. You can forget about your paralysis for a while when being in water;) You like to swim?

I think going into the pool with the help of the lifting system is not enough comfortable for a wheelchair user. Lifting system makes the person looking more dependent than they are. I know because resorts I have gone did not have a accessible pool too, and I needed personel help to tranfer. In fact, there are better accessible systems to transfer into the pool but most pools have not those. However, somehow you got it done. It's good.

Good thing I know how to swim huh? This is not for everyoje but built in lifts cost thousands.

That's so extra. Just transfer normally.

If I and others like me were able to transfer normally this setup would not be needed. Not everyone can transfer so easily.

Normal looks different to everyone. I'm not in my 20s anymore. 36 years paralyzed this is 'my' normal. I wish you all the best.
