Awhile back Meghan stumbled across the Crystal River on Instagram. She immediately pointed out the manatees and stated that she had to swim with them! While her mom and sister were in town we had the opportunity to drive 2 hours north and swim with manatees!
We booked our tour through Explorida Adventure Tours (we are not affiliated with them, just highly appreciative of the service provided). Upon arrival we were greeted and made to feel at home. We were instructed on proper manatee manners and squeezed ourselves into our tight suits... I mean wetsuits. We promptly set out with our guide and van driver on a very quick drive to the docks. Once we were unloaded our boat captain ferried us to our first swim point.
The water stays a chilly 72 degrees yearly and has amazing visibility. We were so impressed with the amount of manatees we saw and how friendly the were. With growing crowds we were ferried to another spot up river to once again see more manatees! Meghan's saving grace from the cold waters was the steaming cup of hot chocolate awarded to us on the boat!

The footage on land was filmed using the native camera on my iPhone 12 Pro Max with the DJI Osmo 3 Gimbal, the in water footage was filmed using the GoPro Hero 7 with the Movo Dive Cage and Movo LED Lights, and the in air footage was filmed using the DJI Mavic Air 2.
