Swimming with whale sharks in Cancun, Mexico, 29th July 2015.
OMG so I was in Mexico for two weeks in July/August and had this AMAZING opportunity to swim with these amazing sharks. As someone whose favourite animals are orcas and sharks you can only imagine how much this meant to me.
This is only a small part of all the footage I got!
There are only two places in the whole world where the currents in the ocean cause the whale shark's nutrients to be brought to the surface, and therefore the whale sharks come up to the surface to eat and you can get in the water with them. I literally got so close to them I could touch them.
Thank you so much to everyone in Cancun who provided this once in a lifetime, incredible day for me. Especially Juan who held my hand and pulled me along when I couldn't keep up with how fast the sharks were swimming (looks slow, but irl they're bloody fast)! Best day of my life by far.
