I used to have pigeons when I was a little nipper, I was blessed to have a racing pigeon with a little injury turn up on my drive a few months back and I contacted the owner who basically said he will ring it's neck and said I can keep it if I want. Now I've had him for 3 months and he's wing and leg are repaired and he's back to near perfect condition I want to build a loft but ain't got a clue where to start and how I'm going to bring more pigeons in from as the little guy is getting lonely I feel.

from my experence pairing a gold eye to a pearl will wash out the eyes, however pairing gold to gold and pearl to pearl will preserve the color,

I was of the understanding that big / small pigeons should be paired to the perfect sized partner. I don’t want to go into genetics but ..... Big / small = big or small offspring Big * perfect = offspring big or perfect
