As an indian i say akram...common man you cant compare with him..akram was legend...starc is a good bowler but wasim bhai in batting conditions like india pakistan sharja...he used to swing the ball...im glad that i watched him from 1992 till his end of career....inswing..outswing...reverse swing..leg cutter...every ball in his armoury...my era sachin...lara and akram were legend's of the game...
People who compare Wasim with Starc don't even know how brutal was Wasim's swinging deliveries add to that pace + reverse swing. Salute to Sachin and other legendary batters to face those kind of bowling in those days.
@@yogeshKumar-xl9ylThere are many parameters to judge one's skill. Even if we look at the fact that Starc is bowling in batting friendly condition,Akram was far ahead in terms of skills. Many cricket expert (including former cricketer) had termed Akram as the best left arm pacer ever in the history of cricket. So you think that you are more knowledgeable than those cricketing excepts.
Sachin did not face Mitchell. Indeed wasim is best but you cannot take anything away from Mitchell. 2015 and 2019 WC speaks for itself. Another bowler Boult.
@@24letsgo69his health matters to him. He doesn’t want the stress and pressure to fall on his shoulders. The coaches of the team get destroyed by the fans.
Don’t dare to compare starc with akram, wasim was a lethal bowler, even in batting conditions akram was rattling stumps along with waqar and akhtar. Love from 🇮🇳
Why Indians need to specify and not Poms or Australian's strange 😂😂😂😂😂😂 and here there is no comparison made they are just discussing the art of swing bowling
Lmao don't dare? Wasim didn't have to bowl to 60 meter boundaries, big bats, flat pitches in limited over crickets, high average scores in ODIs & T20, 2 new balls etc. Starc has to bowl in these sorts of anti-bowling conditions for over a decade now. Wasim didn't have to play a single t20 match in his career or T20 affected ODI cricket, while Starc never got to bowl batters without helmet & protective gears like Wasim got to bowl for years in his career. I would still rate Wasim over Starc as a bowler but to act as if Starc hasn't had it harder than Wasim is ridiculously biased & nostalgia ridden judgment.
Mate, it's a healthy discussion, not a comparison😂😂. Don't see everything as a comparison. Basically, they both are left arm pacers so its a similarity rather than the term comparison.
Like Brian Lara said , “ Waseem Akram was miles ahead of the bowlers of his times.” Waseem had never got hit for sixes as Mitchell Star got hit for huge sixes by Fakhar zaman. Early overs , mid overs or death overs Waseem was in control of the game ; never let the batsmen to settle down . Waseem is the G. O.A. T
Lol Wasim definitely got hit for sixes, that's nostalgia talking. But run rates on average were much lower then, Wasim would be more expensive now with bigger bats and smaller boundaries.
If there was t20 and boundaries like today,he too would have been destroyed in some games. Bowlers of this generation deserves more credit especially in white bowl cricket.
@@Abhaykumar-vr4rm you and all the haters of Waseem Akram. I have seen Waseem performing since 1984 and he has never been hit around the park because of his skills( swing, speed, bounce , foxing the batsmen and 6 different variations ) . 2. Saw him bowling in Hong Kong Sixes 🇭🇰 tournament, where the boundaries are the SMALLEST, yet he didn’t let any batsmen hit him . 3. Even during his times there were amazing hitters of the cricket ball but he didn’t let them hit around the park Hitters of his times : The great Viv Richard Ian Botham Brian Lara Sachin Tendulkar Tom Moody Jay Suria Kapil Dev And many more Waseem’s brilliance is undisputed and that’s why he is called the all times great
Starc has 9 ODIs 5 five wickets haul and 4 icc titles.wasim has played cricket in 80,90,AND EARLIER 2003.Where conditions are bowler friendly.he will take 400+ test wickets

Am a little tired of sub-continental boasting. Who has won 6 World Cups, which no one is anywhere near? Yes Australia, do not lecture us until your'e better than us, which is probably never.
Brother world cups are won by a team. Sure team australia is better than most, but as a player starc is a nobody as compared to Wasim akram. I think that should clear your doubts. So u should have a little respect you arrogant fucks. @@Nicholas.610
Wasim Akram, the man , the myth and the legend. Outswing, inswing, no idea which way the bowl going to, quick arm action, deadly bouncer and lethal Yorkers. Nobody wants to face him, who wants to be a batsman. Absolute treat to watch. Ultra legend!!!!!!!!
Waseem Akram was simply lethal. Even a few highlights shown in this video were some astounding deliveries. With ball in his hands, you would always brace for some action. Mitch Starc is a great bowler as well.
the respect shown by sultan of swing Wasim Akram was amazing and reflects his larger than life celebrity status and bowling icon..... comparing him to starc is mockery of legends
@ssrathorex299 akram was choker but starc is matxh winners 2015,2023 world cup final performance>>>> fixing kkram dam tha roh performance kyu nahi Diya
Student? Lol, Starc is already a legend of the game, a 3 time world cup winner, 2 time highest wicket taker in world cups, 4 ICC trophy winner, 600+ international wickets, all this while bowling in the most difficult era for bowlers in cricket history, especially in limited over cricket. Downplaying him nothing but nostalgia talking, he is an all-time great.
@@elamcyril You already said everything, What i desperately came to say in reply. Starc is not just a Phenomenal bowler, He also performed at crucial stages to make his team win.
Lol yes starc is champion bowler and your so called legend wasim akram was choker who won only 1992 wc and bashed by australian batsmen in 1999 wc final . 😂😂🤣
Where's your Akram's Pott in a world cup? Starc is two times highest world cup wicket taker, in batting friendly conditions. That makes Akram no more than a student before starc.
@@kushajkumar6313 That's fact but the original comment said "harmed in this discussion" so my curiousity was how ? Did they said something indirectly about jio and star ?
@@kushajkumar6313 It's not their fault actually just answer how many Indians want to listen to technical aspects of cricket? very less so they are just showing what people want to see.
You can’t compare any one with Rafi Sab in singing, can’t compare any with Great Mohammad Ali in Boxing, similarly you cannot Compare any Bowler with Great Wasim Akram.
@@RaviKumar-f2w9kGood one. Wasim is the best ever . Md Asif is the second best . Wasim had pace when he was young. He would bowl 152 , he would bowl yorkers, bouncers, swing it both ways. Asif was a deadly swing bowler. But Wasim was better
Nobody considers Shami after Bumrah or Siraj. He generally bowls when the ball gets old. And moreover he is not young and he is a fast bowler. So its necessary to prolong his career by making him play in important games.
I am from India, but have to admit , there is no one will ever come even this close to Sir Wasim Akram. Gotta admit, he is the greatest left arm bowler alive, and will always be one of my favorites :)
It was bad luck for us the pitch was different under lights . Muralidharan said in one interview under light it is easy for batting unit he gave example 1996,2011,2023 world cup

Why do people from the sub-continent always think when you put two players side by side they're being compared in terms of their greatness? All they've done is asked for the perspective of a current player and a former player when it comes to swing.
They lack comprehension skills. Like seriously, there is not even a hint of comparison, even Starc praises Anderson and Shami as the current masters of swing bowling.
The sub-continent tradition of almost worshipping their players is insane. Funnily enough, Starc is arguably the greatest ODI/limited bowler ever (just look at the stats) and it’s not at all an unfair comparison to compare him to Akram. Both are legends of the game.
How Humble Wasim Bhai is in this Video... Asking Juniors about their skills... 😅... Imagine asking Starc to play Wasim of his peak.. Wasim Bhai you are GOAT. ❤
Wasim Akram is a legend. Pakistan should make him their bowling coach. His experience and expertise will be a huge asset for the fast bowlers and the team as a whole. PCB should pay him the amount or more they paid for foreign coaches. Since Pakistan is in a rebuild phase he will be a great mentor for the team as a whole.
Wasim bhai my favorite cricketer! skill, hardwork, dedication, passion and humbleness to teach the new generation a thing or two about bowling and cricket.. an absolute legend of the game and ambassador of world cricket! so glad he is doing commentary now!
Look at the level of confidence of these aussies! The series is going on and they're explaining the ball grips to a person from their opponents side.. That's how we bowl to you guys.. do what you can! 🔥😅
Thses kind of videos are the Wikipedia of cricket. All bowling coaches should play this to the young amd upcoming fast bowlers. Sultan of swing and the modern era great!!!
rightly said.. not only that, but the Cricket broadcasters, Boards and other rights holders should allow fans, coaches, and PR teams to use video footage to help teach the nuances of game, the strategies, and use it as part of coaching sessions and to generally grow the game everywhere.
Akram was probably the best fast swing bowler I’ve ever seen . I’ll put him as a legendary legend of fast bowling. Guys this man was amazing to watch back in the days. We the world salute you Akram Sachin Lara 🫡 you are set in stone in our hearts ❤️
The Art of Bowling. It's just amazing & fun to watch when some Great Bowlers are explaining their art to viewers some of whom probably later think "ok, I can do that" 😅
Wasim Akram OR Mitch Starc??? Wasim "Hogwarts swing" Akram... all day long, until the cows come home and after. Even Starcy would be pleasantly honoured to be put in the same league as Wasim.

Don’t compare starc with sultan of swing Wasim bhai Akram…I am an Indian but I used to love watching Wasim bhai, waqar bhai and Shoaib 100 miles per hour Akhtar in my childhood…dream fast bowling ❤
Imran Khan was asked on a tv show in India some years back whether he thinks Virat Kohli is one of the best batters in India and he said for him the best battsman from India would be Sunny Gavaskar and the reason being that he faced one the best bowlers in the world of cricket ever at that point of time. Specially from west indies like Malcolm Marshall, Andy Roberts, Joel Garner when it was India vs west indies world cup final in the 80s. Sunny Gavaskar gave them a run for their money. While Virat on the other hand never had to face even half that fire power in his time. And that is very true. There are no lethal fast bowlers like Shoaib, Asif, Bret Lee, Wasim Akram, Waqar Younis, Curtley Ambrose or Courtney Walsh or Malcolm Marshall. So kudos to all those great batsmen who faced that kind of fire power and still managed to score runs.
Wasim has to be the classiest elder statesman, ever. He is in my Top XI, but his commentary is something I think we all cherish. His commitment to uplifting other cricketers is simply awesome❤️
I respect Starc for correcting the commentator and making him start with Waseem Akram That shows respect of the elders and that speaks volumes for his values, upbringing and morals
Always knew mohd. SHAMI is going to be known as one of the greats of the game due to how he use seam position only players know how to do that jimmy anderson and md shami. Thanks for clearing that mitch.
Absolutely no comparison with Wasim bhai. By far the tallest among all time greatest left arm bowlers. Extremely extremely skillful and wise and more importantly on any surface. Wasim Akram remains matchless and on top for ever.
Wasim has already spent time with Mitch, he helped Mitch when he was younger. Wasim reached out to Mitch, when he was struggling with his arm and hand position as a youngster, and just helped him with a few technical tips.
Starc, Shami, Bhumrah, Siraj, Shaheen Afridi are also shining stars in the current era. Yes to become Wasim Akram in fast bowling or Saqlain in spin bowling takes so much time , hard-work and dedication. I would encourage youngsters to watch Wasim Akrum and Saqlain bowling actions so we (as a cricket fans) can see better and attacking cricket in upcoming tournaments
Starc is good but waseem akram was a legend....what an era that was for pakistan 🇵🇰bowlers facing some of finest players of the era sachin lara Pointing Gilly bevan crow Rahul etc
FYI to all the commentators, this is not a comparison video between who is better. It’s a video of the two greats of their era explaining their technique and mindset to genuine swing bowling(mind you not seam bowling). Peace out.
So many comments talking about a comparison that is not even happening. They are discussing what they do/did. Nobody compared anything here, stop crying😂
Wasim Akram “The best fast bowler that I have faced” by Allen border , brain Lara, Jaques Kalis, Michael Slater, Mark waugh and many more. He is in ‘all time eleven ‘ by 99,9% of cricketers. Skill wise Wasim is the greatest fast bowler of all time.
