My instructor, Marcello atmosphereparag..., tests out my Swing Nyos RS. He's pulling asymmetrics and other maneuvers to check out the Nyos's responses, with a couple of top landings.
Pretty much as Swing describes - it's a high performance B glider, not suited for acro but long distance flying.
I've had the Nyos 6 months now, 39 flights. Took a FULL frontal a couple of weeks ago - my first ever. I had plenty of altitude, the whole thing was over quickly and recovered very fast. Barley enough time to think "Wow, all of my lines have gone slack", to "Oh, good the wing is flying again". There's a lot of sensations that go with it of course.
I've taken a bunch of asymmetrics, so far they've been non events, leaning away from the collapse instinctively and maintaining a heading. I didn't get a “turn to the collapse” so it felt very stable. Just the sound of my wing flapping and me thinking "what the hell!" Only one required pumping for it to reinflate but even then I was maintaining my heading.
Flying in the spring air here in Southern California has been interesting, the wing feed back is way more than my previous Ozone Mojo 5. And quite honestly it's taking some getting use to. The winter smooth air was a good time to make my first flights.
SIV scheduled for the end of June. We'll see how I feel about everything after that.
I'm a P2 working on my P3, 142 flights, about 60 hours. Taking things slow.
