The way down from Helvellyn via Swirral edge. The Helvellyn walk via Striding Edge and then down Swirral edge is full of thrills, sets the heart racing. Awesome scenery on the top.
Me and my 15-year-old son want to do the 'Striding Edge - Summit - Swirral Edge' horseshoe route, and I'm fine with most of the route but this descent back down to Swirral is the thing that plays on my mind the most. Having watched your video, I think it should be doable - thank you for sharing! But I'm totally going to wait for the good weather!
I did this descent yesterday and I must say I found it mentally tough. I had been fine on Striding Edge, but this descent feels treacherous and I suffered terribly from vertigo (which I don't normally get).
@@neilmeeson5272 the weather was good; I did not take any photo on Swirral edge as I thought I will concentrate on walking as it was a precipitous in many places, literally cliff hanger at times
