So what does the belt drive look like? Does it have a spring tensioner or a solid rod? Is it all rusted inside the drive housing? Does the idler work perfectly or does it or did it need replacing? Does the belt jump off while mowing or are there ANY other things to note in the drive???? I have one of these with most of the above problems, and no one seems to have a video on the drive and it's possible problems. Need some help here. Photos, not necessarily videos......

Sound like you need to rebuild your bearing box. I had to do that on a brushhog brand years ago. Very simple two bearing and put a new drive belt on while you are there.

No noise or play coming from the spindle assembly. The big pulley is worn on the edge due to the brake piece hitting(rubbing to stop the blade). But I see nothing else that looks out of order. Thanks for the video. @@BackwoodsOffroadOverlanding

Large update to my earlier post. Spindle was excellent condition. 1st off, I bought a new motor pulley and driven pulley, 2 new return springs (in case another one broke) and a new belt. Installed all new pieces. The tension spring was too high and rubbed on the motor shaft, I turned it over and dropped it as low as I could. The idler pulley had the same problem so I cut some material off the bottom of the arm and remounted in the center of where the belt runs. Revamped the cable by making a new adjuster with a longer adjustment at the mower end. Put everything back together making sure there was nothing touching other things, adjusted the cable. I then tried it out. Worked like it just came from the factory. I think someone had been in there and screwed everything up, as nothing fit like it was supposed to. Awesome machine. Has taken care of all my brier bushes with one or 2 passes, mows 4ft high weeds with one pass. Never falters. THANKS for the video. @@BackwoodsOffroadOverlanding

I am currently in the process of doing the same to an old one we have. Just going to have a rewind engine and blades engaged as soon as it cranks over, not ideal but not spending a ton of money when I have a big bush hog. Just need something more compact for tighter trails.

For sure much cheaper than a tractor and bush hog! This gets the job done
