This was my 2nd long flight, the first one in Föhn and wave. I am so surprised, happy and astonished that I could feel the thermals after just a few hours. This glider circles beautifully and effortlessly!

Beautiful scenery! Compared to our club's Duo Discus XLT, I was impressed by the handling of the Arcus T. A very nice addition to your club's fleet!

The SH shutdown guidance is interesting! It's fascinating how each manufacturer has their own take on this process. I particularly like the 60°C target temp to shut down. Do they recommend popping the engine bay doors open for 5 minutes like DG does?

Popping doors open? I have not seen that for Arcus-M (I read the manual three times....). I have only flown the Antares 20E, here the procedure is 100x simpler and easier. I will let others comment on other manufacturer gliders...

@@ronaldglider hah! Yeah, DG says with takeoffs from high temp airfields to let the muffler cool down after shutdown by manually extending for 1 second which opens the doors, leave it for for 5 minutes, then retract. It's an extra step that I don't particularly like but I guess it's possible for the muffler to warp the composite prop? Pretty sure my prop is the same as all other Solo aircraft. There is some discussion on the email group about this subject and whether it's necessary at all.
