Swiss Travel Pass is by far the best option, if you rent a car and return it after two weeks it will cost you over 40k INR in high season which is not cheap. But with the pass you get free rides in Panoramic trains like Luzern - Interlaken Express (reservation not needed), Glacier Express (reservation needed), Bernina Express (res. needed), Gotthard Panorama (res needed), Volarpen Express (res not needed) etc. Free entry to many museums, free mountain excursions in Rigi, Stanserhorn and Stoos, 25-50% for other mountain excursion like Jungfraujoch, Schilthorn, Gornergrat etc. In my personal opinion, do NOT miss the train journeys for driving. You'll miss a lot. The best way to see Switzerland is by train.
Yes I totally agree we enjoyed as a family of 3 in 2017.we stayed in Bern and travelled to many places.we took Swiss pass and enjoyed a lot as it was our individual tour ,not through any travel agency’s.we explored many places, rides, museums and with out any hurry burry .

I am travelling in mid Feb . Please tell me 🙏
The beauty of your explanation is like a full meal... no one misses anything and no doubts, or questions left to ask.. the viewer must watch from start to end... he will get all answers for his trip. EXCELLENT just loved it.
While watching this video I remembered our Switzerland trip with SOTC in 2019, it was a great experience. But now I feel like doing a solo tour of Switzerland. Thanks for all the info.
@@jatinkumardesai583 Good 👍, all the best. I will also be in Paris for 3 nights in June. Actually the plan is to first go to London and stay there for 3 weeks and after that move to Amsterdam, Belgium, Paris and finally Switzerland.
Swiss Pass is one of the best options and recommended pass to visit Switzerland. We visited on the first week of October. It's very easy and all the rail staff are very friendly and so helpful.

We are planning to make a trip to Europe in May 2023. Do you think we will face any problem due to present ongoing crisis (inflation, energy crisis) ? Will the travel cost increase significantly? will there be any problem in room heating in the hotels? Please suggest.
May is a good month to travel Europe.. temperature will be getting better so you may not need room heaters. Regarding inflation , its true prices are going but that is there is most part of the world.
I liked the way you explain everything.. just wanted to know if entry to Rhine falls and lucerne lake boat ride included with Swiss half fare card. Its free with swiss pass
We are planning a trip in Aug 2023. Have a question rgd Swiss rail pass : how do u differentiate between which trains are included vs which are not? Are they marked or color coded ? Thanks in advance for any insight. I beg to differ on road vs rail. If u plan to go to tourist destinations only, train is probably better. However Switzerland is so much more than the 3-4 cities mentioned here. We did a motorcycle trip couple years ago and went thru some of the remotest Swiss mountain passes and stayed in small villages. Trains will not work. Also if you like to drive, one shouldn’t miss one of the best twisty roads in the world, that too in pristine condition. Just a data point to consider.
Hey , April and May are spring months so you will see new fresh leaves on the tree but if you want everything to be green come in summer months which is June - August but remember those are also very touristy months which means everything will be crowded. Regarding everything will open , most of the places are open all the year round they are closed only if the weather becomes very bad.
Hi Megha and Sourabh... How ru? I am staying in intaly and I want to know that is there any visa needed to travel to Switzerland and Paris from here? If needed, what's the procedure... Please tell..

If it's only Switzerland, you can manage yourself but if you are planning 3-4 countries within Europe, then better to book the itinerary with the help of a travel agent

Also, children between the ages of 6 and 16 travel free with the Swiss Family Card as long as they are accompanied by at least one parent holding a valid Swiss Travel Pass or Swiss Half Fare Card. The Swiss Family Card is issued free of charge. To do so, select the number of children travelling with you on the booking screen.
