Sort of a follow up for last week's video with some more fixes. If you're interested in allowing users to login through your app/API, check out this doorkeeper tutorial while you wait for this video to go public! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Kwm4Edvlqhw.html

Hello, thanks for the video. I would like to ask you when you transfer to postgres, is your data (database objects) also transferred? And if not, how can you?

It should, but there might be some small things that are different.

Keep getting this error when trying to run the rails db:create command after switching to postgres: "We could not find your database: postgres. Which can be found in the database configuration file located at config/database.yml." i've looked around but can't seem to find anything that resolves the issue.

Never mind, I was able to fix but uninstalling postgres and doing a clean install. Guess something went wrong with the original installation.

Glad to hear you fixed it! Sorry that postgres was being difficult. Unfortunately that's been my experience just about every time I've had to set it up, something inevitably and magically goes wrong 😬

Hi, I'm getting an error when Dropping the DB. " ActiveRecord::ConnectionNotEstablished: connection to server at "::1", port 5432 failed: server closed the connection unexpectedly This probably means the server terminated abnormally before or while processing the request. " If anyone can help, it would be a great help. Thanks! BTW Very interesting video series.

First thing I usually check when I see that error is whether the postgres service is running on the device. That'll depend on the operating system you're using, but you can probably Google the command. If it's running and you're still getting that error, your config/database.yml file might not have the correct connection information to connect to the psql db.

@@Deanin Thank you very much for your instant reply! I just figured out the issue. I'm working with Windows and I hasn't installed Ruby on ubuntu. I just installed Postgres only. Thank you so much for your reply! Keep up the good work!
