Thanks for the explanation on adding secondary bridges, I was trying to re-pair it between Google Home and Homekit and it would disappear from the othr each time.

Hi! One question, do you know if the IR part can be transferred to Homekit? I would buy it just for that function to be able to use my TV and air conditioning. Greetings from Spain!

I think that it is helpful as you are trying to connect to matter to reset your phone before starting.

Any thoughts between what works better for home assistant users- connect to devices through matter and the Switchbot hub or using Home Assistant Bluetooth proxies?

I would say Bluetooth proxies. The hub itself is fine, the problem is the Bluetooth connection between the hub and the other devices, unless you want to have multiple hubs in different room

@@zhuodonghuang7049 yeah I have 18 blind tilts throughout my house, which were originally connected to 3 hub minis. Any commands run through the hub mini had delays and tilts not responding most of the time. Then I connected them to bt proxies and had a much better experience, still not perfect though. I can't really see if there would be an advantage using the new hub over proxies.

The range between the SwitchBot devices and the Hub is the same. So BT proxies would allow you to have stronger connections to your individual devices. Unfortunately the only way to solve BT range issues is more hubs or BT proxies. I have a “relatively” large house and my one hub covers all of my SwitchBot devices (around 10). But there is a delay between pressing go via HomeAssistant and the bot or lock engaging. For me, Matter should be faster because my Home Assistant is connected via the API, so there is a cloud involved.

SwitchBot Hub Mini that I have doesn't support Matter? 😳the SwitchBot Tilt which I have all over my 1st floor. So I have to upgrade 😣 Icing on the Cake I am using SmartThings...

Ouch! At least you just have to upgrade the hub. I'm assuming that they'll have smartthings worked out pretty darn soon. I will ask my contact for an update on when that's going to be supported.

No. Not yet... but you can control it via the API.

2:50 I really double about it. Personally I don't think Switchbot will include "Matter" into their old products such as hub mini. Not that the memory inside is not sufficient, it simply violates the rule of bussiness of making more money with new products. I hope I'm wrong because I have a bunch of Switchbot old products. :{

Plus the cost of updating the old firmware. Luckily you can use all of the older products with the new hub. They have been pushing firmware updates to other products to add matter support.
