I know what you mean - but you absolutely DO contribute to society Kristen. You've taught me so much about schizophrenia and mental illness. You have opened my mind up in many ways about people living with these problems and I'm positive I'm not the only one. Even apart from your work in that area I just like watching your videos because you are honest with a great sense of humour. I'm glad the Haldol is straightening things out. Stay positive!

I've heard so many mixed things about Abilify. I'm glad the Haldol is working. I know it's an old med, but it does have a good profile(in my experience) as far as cost-risk-benefit ratio. As far as mental illness, you and me struggle with the same thing it seems. I wish I could say something to make you know you are worthwhile, but I know for myself that I have a very hard time taking compliments so it has to come from yourself. Doesn't make living with the maze that is a life with mental illness any easier, but know that you are appreciated and admired for your cheerful spirit and the help that you are, not only to me, I'm certain, but many.

been there babs...it could have been withdrawal from Abilify? You are one of a kind and we love ya! Ppl have a hard time accepting an 'invisible' illness...as if it's somehow less real. which sucks. Hope you'll get a big swing upward very soon.

If you have been diagnosed with schizophrenia, go get tested for pernicious anemia, because many people are misdiagnosed with schizophrenia and they really have a curable Pernicious anemia problem, which is an inability to absorb B12. When B12 gets extremely low, it causes auditory hallucinations and other symptoms identical to schizophrenia. Demand that your doctor do a methylmalonic test, because it is the most accurate test to see if you are B12 deficient. If you are deficient, you can get your B12 up to normal and be off these psychiatric meds in about a month or 2. If you're not B12 deficient, go have your free copper level tested, because a high free copper can also cause psychosis, and it can be cured with daily zinc. According to Dr. Carl Pfeiffer, who cured 20,000 schizophrenics, when a schizophrenic takes zinc, he will be cured. It may take 6 months or it may take 2 or 3 years, but your copper level will come down when taking zinc daily. Once cured, you'll have to take zinc daily for the rest of your life to prevent the free copper from building back up and the schizophrenia from returning. Pfeiffer discovered as long as they remained on zinc, they remained cured of schizophrenia, but if they ever stopped taking it, they would eventually relapse. Remember to tell your doctor to test your FREE copper, not just the serum copper. If you need to take zinc, order the "now foods" brand, because it's the least upsetting to the stomach. You need to take 50 mg 3 times a day on an empty stomach, one hour before meals or 2 hours afterwards.

I never even heard if an "abilify injection"' thought those things only come in oral pill form, anyways nice video. My doctor just switched me from Lexapro to Cymbalta and its been workin great, lexapro was a very bad drug for me, gave me horrible side effects. Im starting Abilify tomorrow because I noticed I am still semi-depressed and not motivated even though I am on 60mg of Cymbalta, my doctor recommended I try abilify to kinda put the Cymbalta on steroids as I call it haha. I have been suffering with depression and severe pain in my right knee for years. I also take 10/325 Hydrocodone & Acetimetophine and it has been working great for me. Good luck to you and your mental health! Stay positive and always rise up from any issue you come by in your life, and continue your meds if they are working right for you.

That weird restless leg feeling where you gotta keep moving.... That's true. Once you cure your disorder and feel you're ok, you have to stop haldol. Even if your doctor says not to stop, you should stop...I stopped and never looked back. Haldol is used to calm crazy people and put them into a calm sedated state... The longer the dr keeps you on haldol, the hope is that you will remain in a sedated calm state for a long time. Then the dr will plan to switch your med and substitute with something less dangerous, Well... If you are strong minded and had a shock or some type of crazy break down and end up in a mental institution, haldol can help u get back on your feet. I wouldn't take it for more than 5 days. You will experience restlessness, crazy legs where you gotta keep pacing, and you will be numb in your mind and won't analyze, rather just observe, And not think too much... It's been a year since I had my haldol experience and i was told that if I stop, that I would have negative side affects. Well my doctor wa wrong, it's a year later and I feel just as great as the day that I stopped. Marijuana is the only medicine I'd suggest. Drugs are bad, marijuana is not a drug. Don't let the FDA and war on drugs tell you otherwise,

Rafal Pasciak haldol literally saved my life from psychosis. not everyone is the same and marijuana is very bad for anyone with psychotic symptoms which she has. her being on haldol makes sense considering the fact that she’s schizophrenic

Kristin - You might have Pernicious anemia, which is a low B12 that's causing your problems. Pernicious anemia is often misdiagnosed as schizophrenia, because the symptoms are the same. Low B12 causes auditory hallucinations, paranoia etc. Tell your doctor you want a methylmalonic test along with a B12 serum test. Methylmalonic is the most accurate test to show if you have a low B12, and it will be elevated when B12 is low. The B12 serum is only accurate about 50% of the time. Get these tests and if you have Pernicious anemia, once you get a bunch of B12 back in your body, you will be cured and will no longer need Haldol. If you don't have Pernicious anemia, get your free copper level checked, because a high free copper can also cause psychosis. Schizophrenia is basically not a disease, but a set of symptoms that can be caused by several things. You should read Dr. Carl Pfeiffer's research. Pfeiffer cured 20,000 schizophrenics during his lifetime.

@@ichbinkeinberliner its working by keeping my brain from thinking crazy stuff, i had a minor incident when i first started taking it, it gave me lock jaw. But a nurse in the mental hospital gave me a shot of cogentin, and that helped relax my jaw.. Now I'm free and out of the mental hospital, im taking 7mg of haldol, and i had a shot before i left.. So far so good... Except I've been waking up in the middle of the night, feeling helpless.. Strange, but weird feeling.. Still plan taking it though.. Let me know what you think.. Should i keep taking the haldol or should i stop.. Get on a lower dosage? Stop taking the Haldol pills? Or should i keep taking them?
@ichbinkeinberliner

@@PeruseStudent Hi! I recommend always consulting with your doctor regarding medications, and it is NOT a good idea to just stop them unless your doctor advises you to do that. For me, the Haldol helps keep my brain from having weird and delusional thoughts. I think it is excellent that you are taking the meds. A lot of people stop taking them, and then they end up back in the hospital or worse. I personally like getting the injection that lasts for a number of weeks, so then I don't have to worry so much about taking daily Haldol pills. Plus in the past there were times I would quit taking meds and I'd end up really sick, but not wanting to take meds. You might talk to your doctor about the long-acting injection to see if that is an option for you.You are doing great. I know it is hard, but keep it up. I've found that the longer I'm on the medication the better my brain functions!

How to get rid of involuntary movements in the hand and face resulting from this injection
@ichbinkeinberliner
@ichbinkeinberliner 4 года назад
I actually don't have the involuntary movements in the hand and face yet. I hope not to get them. I think sometimes people will take medicines like cogentin for the involuntary movements, or they might have to switch to a different medicine.

@ichbinkeinberliner

Actually, usually they last for 4 weeks at a time, but mine was wearing off too fast, so I get it once every three weeks. It works really well for me, but each person responds to the medicines differently.

Do you know of any vitamin Supplements that might reverse the side effects of Seroquel?
@ichbinkeinberliner
@ichbinkeinberliner 7 лет назад
I do not know of any supplements that reverse side effects, although I have heard of some benefits of fish oil and other supplements. You might want to check out schizophrenia.com because they have some supplements listed that might help with schizophrenia. However, I don't know if they can reverse side effects.

What symptoms are you having exactly do you hallucinate and hear voices because that haldol made me feel absolutely horrible i would have done anything to escape the torture in that hospital they forced on me. Whatever these country cattle farmers do you like your grazin to me.
@ichbinkeinberliner
@ichbinkeinberliner 8 лет назад
+aron clark There are two different kinds of Haldol I believe. One is short-acting, and one is long-acting. I take the long-acting one. You might have been on the short-acting one in the hospital. The short-acting one tends to pack quite a punch I think. Also, different meds work for different people. I don't think I hallucinate. I mostly have delusions and paranoia and lack of motivation...things like that. I don't think I've heard voices. I also sometimes have anxiety. If you are given a huge dose of Haldol it can be bad. I'm on a pretty low dose relatively speaking. It can make me a bit sleepy sometimes, but it is also good, because it does help me sleep where sometimes when I'm psychotic and paranoid I tend to avoid sleeping.
