ZiBBZ was so underrated, song, lyrics, staging and voice were really amazing but... that 1st semi final of 2018 was... even a word bloodbath is not enough to describe it, just all the favourites in one show of 19 songs (actually a record number among the years with two semi finals). There just wasn't enough televoting points them to qualify, they finished like 11th, 12th, 13th in so many countries. So, I support them by my vote.

Switzerland has participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 60 times since making its debut at the first contest in 1956. Switzerland had been absent from Eurovision four times since their participation began in the first contest. These absences, in 1995, 1999, 2001 and 2003 were caused by poor results in previous contests that relegated Switzerland from the contest. Annie Cotton gave the country its 15th top five result in 1993, when she placed third. Since the introduction of the semi-final round in 2004, Switzerland have failed to reach the final in 11 of 16 contests. Switzerland returned to the top five for the first time in 26 years when Luca Hänni gave the country its 16th top five result by finishing fourth in 2019. The country's only other top 10 result of the 21st century is Estonian girl group Vanilla Ninja's eighth-place in 2005. Switzerland has sent 61 songs, 23 of which were in French, 12 in German, 15 in English, 10 in Italian and 1 in Romansh. Both of Switzerland's winning songs have been sung in French.

Up until the early nineties Switzerland was a real powerhouse in Eurovision with a lot of great songs in the top ten, after that they lost it completely

Fun fact: The oldest person to ever take part in Eurovision was Emil Ramsauer, a member of "Takasa" who represented Switzerland in Eurovision 2013, he performed when he was 95 years old, Emil sadly passed away on December 22, 2021 at the age of 103.

Lovely to have a new great reaction video from this lovely ESC Channel. You guys are brilliant! 🌟 Switzerland often pass under my radar, but I find many of the songs being a bit underrated. After watching this video I'm rooting for Peter, Sue and Marc and their entry from 1981. I also love the swizz entry from 2005. But their best song is, by far, Luca Hänni's song from 2019. I just love a little bit of Dirty Dancing 😊

My 1. Is either Celine Dion 1988 or Gjorns Tears 2020(both were my winners of their respective years). Nr. 2 is Cool vibes 2005(my winner that year), nr. 3 is Lucca Hänni 2019 or Lys Asia Refrain 1956 or Peter, Sue and Marc 1981.

The song in 1989 was sung in Romanic, the fourth official language in Switzerland.

Guys switzerland have 4 tv prodcast SF is the german part RSF is the france RSI is the italien And RSR ghe romanic (fun fact song from 1989 was in romanic) But every year switzerland come with all 4 tv to the eurovision. There are all part of the srg ssr goupe

Ok i'm catching up now... Yes, Switzerland was probably my favorite of the older decades, but then it just got messy. I agree Gjon's Tears really had grown on me and probably would've been the North Macedonia's "Proud" of 2020 if I saw it live. Looking forward to seeing him in 2021, but for now, I have to give my vote to Celine for being utterly iconic, with GT second, and Sebalter's whistling "hunter of Stars" a surprising third. Lol, your comments do make me laugh. I find that I like Switzerland most years. One of my favourites ever is Sabalter in 2014. I loved Sinplus. And I also still listen to Cool Vibes too. Some of their non qualifiers were robbed tbh, they were great.

Luca was the best ever for me, the song was iconic, i also like their 2014,2011,2009,2012,2013,2018,2020,2017,2007,2008. Luca was ill during ESC .... And about 2020 entry, (finally u like somebody from Albania😂 (he has got albanian roots)

Carrément, J'ADOOOOORE 😍 1958,like in a Disney cartoon... 😂 Lucky Switzerland, can sing in French or Italian or in German... So why in English last years ????
