Sword & Shield is a march written by Percy Merritt, and on the International Staff Band's Blazon album. The motif of the march comes from St. Paul's letter to the Ephesian church, in which he wrote, "Take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God."
