Sword Art Online: Last Recollection Review - Refined Combat 

They should double down on Fatal Bullet and release Fatal Bullet 2. That was by far my favorite, had amazing gameplay and decent end game play as well as coop. Loved it. Wish for another.

Hmm.. I really liked playing Hollow Fragment and Hollow Realization mainly. Fatal Bullet was a breath of fresh air after hours in those two games. HF and HR Fulfilled the grind aspect I like and some complicated systems and it made tearing down large hp pools fulfilling to me when I really powered up by mastering sword skill proficiency, gear, and learning all the systems. HF was more linear too, and HR was more open. Maybe I'll pick this game up on sale and play it when it has a few dlcs already. I played the demo but it wasn't enough to sell me on combat just yet, as I don't really play these games for story but moreso like character creation and detaching from Kirito as the MC. Furthermore, having all the sword skills on the getgo and the "buffed" versions on the skill trees looked like rather minimal upgrades except the last skill you have to learn on tree in this game. I dunno, thanks for the review! helped me make a decision for now.

Really wish Bamco could just shell out more money for their other IPs like they do Tekken.

Been refreshing your home page anticipating this review! It actually highlighted a lot about the game I didn’t know. I thought it was going to be more open like AL, and I’m surprised it’s only 20 hours long! Good to hear how great the combat can be though, so looking forward to picking this one up on sale one day!

Does the online ticket shop make a return or are costumes unlocked in game this time?

I keep forgetting what made me quit playing previous game.. i can vividly remember it's about control or something about boring game design, my progression was just entered the school, did some quests and that's it. Is this one feel the same as previous one Alicialization something? I really like fatal bullet tho.

You’d think in a game with it own original story and the fact that the whole series is supposed to be set in an MMO, we’d get to make our own characters in the actual games. Nope. Play as kirito. Every. Single. Time.

True facts about fatal bullet though, that was made by a completely different team and it may not be perfect but it's still the best SAO game am I right lol. There is a lot more wrong with Last recollection than Lycoris has in it's complete form don't you think? If last recollection can fix these things on my list and your list it would be the superior game. -------------------------------- Off the top of my head: -------------------------------- 1- More outfits/weapons and cosmetics for everyone. Hopefully this can be fixed in an update. 2- Better character customization and more depth. Again can be fxed with update. 3-Simulation style seamless walking to jogging to running, making it more controllable to move. 4-When in battle don't surround your enemy like robots, in Lycoris it was your choice where to attack the enemy and at what angle. You had more freedom in Lycoris. 5-Let you cast as many magics in the game at anytime, not limited to just 1 per battle not even 1 per character lmao. Please Hollow realization is old and they need to move on. 6- Limited to 8 skill slots for everything? No way bring back Lycoris R2 for generate element for everything, and then add 50+ skill attacks for main game by branching out the attack buttons with more pressing, and then into the next skill art, with the same button etc.. That could literally have an upper cap of over 70 skill attacks, not limit to this 8 crap. 7- Buffs should be like Lycoris it was easier and better than Last recollection. 8-I miss exploring a large world map. 9-Enemies still take hours to down with repetitive button bashing lol even in Lycoris this was annoying on harder difficulties, they should have a nightmare mode for that kind of thing, I want hard mode with better drop rate on items, without having to spend hours on 1 boss lol. -------------------------------- The only good thing last recollection did: 1- High res textures for weapons, but don't like the graphics engine or the way the characters look compared to Lycoris. 2- Battle music is better. 3- Special attacks look better, but are still the same re-used copy paste lol. 4- Easier way to set tactics for your npc's A.I. 5: No more bonding of weapons. -------------------------------- That's about it off the top of my head, I may add more but I dunno I don't think it will do any good, the developers just don't get it, they will never read my comment here, and at best people will just be hating on the things I think it needs fixing. It's laughable that most of this can be fixed in an update of the game, but will they do it? I know you say wait for DLC but man they going to probably charge us for the dlc and it still be bare bone lol

Okay, I think there's a miscommunication going on here that's low-key bugging me: Kirito and gang aren't going to the Underworld. The whole virtual reality they are is the Underworld. They are going to the Dark Territory, which is the realms beyond the Human Empire and where orks, goblins, and the other dark races live, preparing to invade. Sorry for the 🤓 moment, just had to get that off my chest.

Last recollection is my favorite SAO RPG, it has the best combat and progression in the series

Been playing these games since Infinity Moment on the PSP. Pretty excited to finally see the end of the game timeline. Shame that the rest of the crew are DLC.

I think they should release a game taken place right after the GGO arc, when they did the whole Excalibur questing. I miss the flying and if they took the combat system from SAO:HR it would be perfection!

I think most will agree that Fatal Bullet is the best SAO game. Haven't the devs realized that if the game diverts from the main cast and has smoother and faster gameplay, more people will love it? The problem I had with the past games except FB was the fighting is too stiff.. too telegraphed. It's like I'm playing a strategic turn-based game masked as action rpg. People love the SAO universe, not the main cast.

Its on sale now is it worth buying ?

So I loved fatal bullet cuz I got to be my own character and I never had anyone to play with how TF am I now seeing everyone loved fatal bullet. So I was thinking either a fatal bullet or in aincrad or alfhiem just with a create a character instead of always playing as Kirito Story would be awesome. I mean cuz we liked fatal bullet so much cuz it wasn't just about kiritos story. But we all loved aincrad and alfhiem just we already knew kiritos story.

The best thing about anime game's is creating a character and inserting yourself into that world. I'm not saying Kirito is the worst main character ever but the premise/lore/story of SAO is what made SAO as popular as it is/was... Having to play as Kirito is a massive waste of potential. Its one of the reasons why Fatal Bullet is unanimously loved by fans.

They should have stick with the 2d visual novel style what they did in all the previous games were already good tbh. i see, so they spend too much on the combat system development that they forgot to keep the budget for the voice acting aspect of the game progressing the main story and regularly what i can hear is left with just "AH, ooh, YEAH, thats it" action voice replacement..... what a mood killer and when i start the game i set the text speed to max so i can read all of it while also listening the to voice acting with the auto mode turn on. what happen is when the story that have voice end and start with the muted one it's just became skip right away (LMAO WTF moment there) rip for the writer also the EN translation is just sometime left some part out that convey deep emotional context. for the Voiced part is fine, for the Muted part is just another RIP i guess

Waiting for this game to go on sale but I did play a little bit of the demo but I found myself not really caring for dorthea but I'm probably going to continue playing later when I feel like it.

So, I've only played a SAO game here or there, but aren't these games like - real human players in a virtual MMO world type thing? Or are some of the games not like that at all?

Imo i played majority of the sao games and from my personal experience the best sao game has to be hallow realization i enjoyed playing it the most and was actually the inly sao game where i seeked to get 100% completion

Really wish these games had English voice acting. I understand why they don't, but I have low vision and reading lots of text on a game can be tough. Always disappointing since I am a big fan of the series.

Part of me does want to criticize these games but if bandai was launching Bleach games, I'd be a sucker for them, #showbleachlove2024

When it comes to rpgs i like the straightforward level design like final fantasy 13 i loved that game but most people hate that game because its too linear. Final fantasy 16 is pretty linear as well and i love that game too. Does anyone know how long the demo for this game is though because i saw this game yesterday for the first time, saw a demo so i downloaded it. I was playing for 2 and a half hours and the demo didnt end😂

Every SAO is just a copy of another. Fatal Bullet was the best and I wish Namco would understand that.

AL felt really unoptimized for console so i never really got into it unlike FB and watching videos of Last Recollection doesn't really look that much different from AL maybe playing on pc would be different

i would argue lost song was best. i'll admit fatal bullet is top but but i think people that are saying it's far better maybe playing the wrong game have you people thought of playing shooter your clearly not true jrpg fan. also the only game that i think was bad was the crossover the other are all good in there own rights and all bad in the own right.

so they just pulled an Alfiem 2 and dropped any pretense of trying to NOT be Kirito. that is tragic. how is it that Fatal Bullet is the only game in this 7+ long tie-in game series to actually deliver playing in the setting as opposed to just playing as Kirito

man bandai namco pisses me off!!! SAO should be the easiest game to make the perfect MMO and they're constantly giving the franchise trash games! If Bandai wont give in and shell out a big budget game give the rights for a better developer to make a game we all truly want to play ugh.. I'm such a huge fan of the anime and the games are just trash! this looks like it was developed for the ps3..

Hmm I can't disagree with 7 however for someone who never played an Sao game its more like an 8 .. There is truly no other jrpg like these games everything is so unique its like an mmo and one of my favorite games of the year

Few hours in. Ngl very disappointing. Dated graphics, combat is smooth but clunky especially coming str8 from granblue fantasy to this. No dub sucks csuse there is so much dialogue. Bland environments. Not really worth going into end game. Why not make the campaign coop?

it really blows my mind that .hack exists and to me remains superior no matter how many sao titles come out because they always seem to limit themselves in some way that in contrast .hack played in to really well.
