very cool so is the horizontal grip you have here better than the angled grip we often see (with the hand grip angled up towards the top right of the back of the shield)?
That boils down to personal preference. The horizontal grip is historical and best for cavalry action on a horse. But on foot it's also fine. Shield hand moves around as needed no problem.
