Good to know Richard! So I played Descent with the Road To Legends App right when I first started gaming, and it went horribly. . . It felt so slow and so many corner cases (LoS being a big issue). S&S just seems so much more streamlined, even if it is a bit fiddly at points! Good to know I might as well skip Descent, at least for now!

@@OneStopCoopShop Sorry 23:30. I've literally just started playing so my understanding is rookie-level, to say the least. You moved him twice to access that area, then moved once, then dashed, then attacked, is that not 4 actions? Or is it the case that one action = whatever your character can move, ie. 3 spaces? Which would explain why you were able to spend two further actions on dash and then attack after moving 3 spaces.

Here we go, so I only used 1 movement and one dash (which is his on action activity) it was interrupted though by revealing shadow tokens so that is why it looked like multiple movements. Each character has their own movement amount, Ecarus' is 3, some other characters it will be different. I suggest to keep watching it will make sense as you go! Good luck on your adventures, the game has a high entry level of rules, but once you internalize them it is not terrible!

Hi there thanks for watching!! I can confirm the cards have you roll blue dice for attacks AND defense! If you take a look at the blue dice you will see there are hits on them as well. So they work for both! Good luck on your own adventures!!

Great question! From what I remember you are supposed to evenly spread out the enemies, but you also have all the same types of enemies controlled by the same person. Regardless this shouldn't have a huge effect on gameplay. Hope that helps!!

Specifically, enemy cards are passed out clockwise, giving them to the first player who doesn't already have one (or who has the least.) The exception is if you get two of the same enemy (like two blue gremlins), they go to the same player (as he has the reference card and it makes it easier.) So in this case, Ecarus doesn't have an enemy, so he gets the first blue. The second blue then goes to Ecarus because he controls the first. The green goes to the first player with no enemies - so Thorgar. Had the draw been (in order) one blue, one green, and one red, it would have been blue to Eacrus, green to Thorgar, red to Auriel.

Oh man enemy activation is much easier in s&s. At lest so far. I guess as we go through the campaign we shall see! But I still feel like gloomhaven is more complicated

The lair is actually the last one story wise so you should be good! It goes immortal souls, arcane Portal, darkness falls, then lair!

I can't remember. Usually thr enemy uses thr main hand weapon unless the ai card says something different

​@@OneStopCoopShop Having run through the prologue quite a few times now, 4 times with 2 heroes(won twice), and once with 3, then 4(won both). I have to say, 2 heroes is the hardest, no question. You're unlikely to level both characters in the prologue, where as 4 heroes is likely to level at least 2. The amount of enemies in the prologue also do not change, irregardless of heroes(just the likelyhood of spawning them), making it far more possible to get overrun with less characters. 2 heroes can still spawn 4 enemies, 4 heroes can not spawn more than 4(+1 depending on when events trigger), making them have greater advantage. Not to mention: 4 heroes will have more combat\encounters, which in turn means more resources for the player to equipt, and level the characters(I had 2 at level 2, with new weaponary with my 4 chars, the equipment was lucky, the amount of soul fragments were not). So basically; Anyone playing solo, play with 3 heroes. if you're 2 players, play with 2 each(or one of you play with an extra).

So the company I got it from no longer exists. . . I would suggest searching business card holders as that is what it is!

Great question Mike! So if I am understanding you correctly, you only roll blue dice UP TO the amount of damage you are taking. So 1 damage was prevented from the armor, and the second damage can only be prevented by rolling a single die. If Ecarus was taking 4 points of damage, he would negate 1 due to his armor, and then roll 3 blue dice. Does that make sense?

Nope not for defense, that is for attacking!

The rulebook has the following: A hero without equipped weapons rolls 1 blue die for the attack (pg. 30). A hero without equipped armor rolls 1 blue die for defense (pg. 30). For an enemy, if no blue dice are shown on its card, the enemy does not roll for defense (pg. 44).

I just watched through a review that someone else did on Galaxy defenders, and it feels much more like a battlefield simulation game than any sort of delve. Obviously, it's not going to be a "dungeon delve", since it's a sci-fi theme, but... I guess I don't know what I was expecting :-/

Yah that is a good comparison. I didn't like descent when I played it but maybe now i would after playing some dungeon crawlets!

On BGG, somebody created an "AI deck" that runs the monsters, so you can play solo or cooperative. I think that really added a lot to Descent.

There are decision points along the game. Sort of like a choose-your-own adventure, and those decision points are further influence by which characters (law, chaos, neutral) you have. You could go through the campaign at least two or three times and have different experiences. There's also a lot of variability in the enemies so they're not predictable (that's what the enemy power cards are for), and there are a lot of custom adventures available online as well.
