@@lotrlmao1648 I have mixed feelings about Saddam. He was a murderer, a war criminal ect. But he was the greatest thing to happen in Iraq. He built roads, schools, hospitals ect. Under his rule, the economy was doing well. It was only when we invaded a small county with oil(Kuwait) until there was US intervention. What a fucking sham. The US only cared about the oil. Further more, the “highway of death” perpetrated by the US was a blantant war crime. If we left saddam be, there would’ve been no isis, taliban ect. He would’ve handled them like he was doing in the 80s. At the time, Iraq had the 4TH strongest army at the time only being surpassed by US,Russia, and China. If saddam was still alive and ruling Iraq, I guarantee that Iraq would be doing 50X better.
@@andrewmartinez7559 Imo he was heroic for defending Humanity against the true evil (Zionists), and now Bashar is the one who carries the banner of defending the world against the evil of Zionism
@Muhammad Same Get out of here. Saddam used the US to fight against the filthy rafidis. In 2003 those same Marxist Kurdish Parties and Rafidis welcomed the US to get rid of him.
Step 1: put electric wires into lake Step 2: wait for Iranian troops to get into and try to cross the lake Step 3: turn on the power Step 4: 1984 "Fish Lake incident"
Step 1 : saddam dreamed to seprate ahwaz , 3 islands & conquering iran . Step 2 : wait till iran to be in chaos (revolution) . Step 3 : 20 years later , iraq became like iran's province 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
@ Who said that Mesopotamia did not fight "in the name of religion" before? All nations were and still are fighting in the name of religion, it is nothing new besides Mesopotamia literally means "the land between the two rivers", which is present-day Iraq The difference in religion and language does not mean that it is no longer Mesopotamia, just like Egypt, which is still Egypt, although it is completely different from ancient Egypt.
I was born in 1994, Italian. When I was a school child Saddam Hussein was basically considered like Hitler and even used to scare children. Leftists used to describe him as I said, like Hitler, while right winged people, as a terrorist leader threatening Western culture. Every good student despised Saddam, because we were told so in school (YES, Western schools spread propaganda). 30 yrs later, after classical high school, a law degree and with different languages and books studied I found out that he was against religious fanatism, quite socialist and - plot twist - his political views were completely harmless towards Western culture. Instead, the very threat against Western culture is represented by the U.S.A. Sorry Saddam if I used to fear you as a kid. You were a smart guy, a great leader and a potential allied for my country, as Italy has ALWAYS been (and I hope it will always be) a friend of the Arab people.
nah man you dont understand what life was like under his rule, dont be so quick to assume that he was good because the left said he was bad, at least 1 person from every family died either from execution or because they died in the frontlines The people had a good life quality, better than iraq today, but lived under strict rules and laws
Wait till you hear about Halabjah's gas attack... Also not so smart if he got so beaten in 1991. Should have been wiser and not face a coalition of 27 countries after 8 years if attrition warfare with Iran.

Back when Iraq was a regional power were nobody made fun of Iraq, Or attempted to meddle in its affairs, The next day saddam would annihilate them before finishing his cigar.
May almighty God once more bring to our fertile lands of the middle east, peace and prosperity. America has toppled great leaders like Gaddafi and Saddam. While I don't like some portions of Saddam's rule he has changed during his final years and hence America has toppled the man who works for his nation and not the lobbies.
I remember how my dad used to listen to that song even after Ba'athist Iraq fell. Even though he wasn't Iraqi, but he liked it a lot. I like this song a lot as well, I guess this song is now a family tradition
Long Live the Ba'ath Party. Hope they come back to power in Iraq, and that Raghad Hussein becomes the president, and punishes those who betrayed her father and brothers. Got to see what will happen if Biden pulls his troops out (those in a combat role) by this year end.

fun fact: in the 1980s, iraq launched a major oil exploration project in the rumaila field, which was one of the largest oil fields in the world at the time. petrobras, the state oil company of brazil, was involved in this project. however, the onset of the iran-iraq war in 1980 disrupted the oil exploration plans, and petrobras had to suspend its operations in iraq due to the armed conflict in the region about war material exportation of the brazilian industries, the middle east accounted for 48.3% of purchases from 1982 to 1986, with iraq making up 38.6% of that total, driven by the iran-iraq war, brazil also sold significant amounts of military equipment to iraq, including EE-9 cascavel tanks. which resulted in a surge in brazilian exports. north africa was also a significant buyer, brazil did sell substantial quantities of arms, primarily armored vehicles, to Iraq in exchange for oil during the Iran-Iraq war. brazil had a significant presence in the trade of weapons and military equipment in the 1980s and early 1990s. brazil managed to integrate the list of the 20 largest exporters of military equipment in the world during that period, and in 1985, it reached the 10th position on the list
