I am well aware but this is not her first time giving birth, the past couple of time, she didn’t eat her babies. That why I’m confident of letting her be.
Generally I find that livebearers will only eat fry if they are underfed. I can't say I've ever really known swordtails or platies to eat fry. As she has given birth and not eaten her fry before, I'd suggest she was either hungry or stressed.
@@guppyfishgirl996 my mollies eat alot too when i have them born in a smaller area. Strange creatures why they eat their babies. Last time i put my mommy in a birthing box only 3 babies survived
Put her in a deeper aquarium with sand and lots of vegetations next time. When my Swordtail was giving birth I always guarded the babies with a long knitting needle till they fall on the bottom. Otherwise she would have cannibalized them all.
I have 4 female and 2 male I just saw a little baby orange colour swimming around I have a lot of hidden spots but only one survived and she is soo cute
U should give food to fish before it gives babies. And By the way this is not sword tail fish.. This is a platy fish.. Put a correct thumbnail at least
your fish blows up like a balloon and looks like it's about to explode, also depending on the live barer they tend to get really square looking then you know they'll give birth in a few days. Also if you have a male and female and good water conditions it's safe to assume they're pregnant cuz they breed a lot and I mean A LOT.
She’s my breeder, I kinda have Idea when she give birth and I also keep track, she give birth every first week of the month. Also her stomach is so big and almost square looking. One thing also the gravid spot is really dark.
Buy a separate birth room for fish. Basically how it works is that when the fish gives birth the babies will fall to the bottom and the mother won’t be able to reach them because there is Bart’s that are so thin that only the babies will fall trough it
