I definitely know what you mean, but I’m not even sure there is a strict set of “meta” characters in this game. It’s a true testament to how well balanced it is.
@@BryGuyJohn I think Palu and Aegis are the only two characters common enough to potentially be considered “meta”. There’s just so much variety to the point where a top 8 with no shared characters is a realistic possibility at every single major.
@@BoltTheEmolga Aegis isn’t very common in competitive, at least not in majors and in terms of placement. Wolf, ROB, Palu and even Chroy are more common
@@lopez0017 I knew I was forgetting someone (Wolf/ROB). I don’t think she’s common per se, just more common than most of the cast, which isn’t difficult when there’s usually 2 top players of each character, at maximum.
Palu dropped off a cliff. There is no meta i literally see every character Except ROB and Wolf. These mofos are in every single bracket but other than them youre not guaranteed to see anyone really
Yeah. It seems that as long as he holds a stock, no matter how much damage he has taken, he won't give up. The is never demoralized; not even when he is sent to losers. It is not over until it is over.
Loved this set seeing Dabuz's Rosa and MkLeo's Byleth! My main and secondary facing off and they both did incredible. (Spoiler) Loved Dabuz Rosa and he didn't do anything wrong. He just needs to mentally prepare as you can tell when he is throwing and doing questionable options that got him punished. MkLeo like always has an unbreakable mentality and I hope for him to win the tourney!
Dabuz messed up some inputs here, but I would agree that his weaknesses lay elsewhere. Too often he went for really obvious plays and got punished for it. Like, I saw this coming from a mile away: 7:54. He had so many options to avoid it.
I respect Dabuz. Rosa is not an easy character to keep playing. Light, big, Luma dying all the time whenever you're at disadvantage. Been a fan since Smash 4.
Genuinely inspiring how Dabuz never gave up even until the very end. I could feel him wanting to quit in game 3 but he just never did, in the spirit of competition.
Byleth bair is easily one of the grimiest bairs in the game thanks to its angle and strength, not even other bairs of the same type like Pyra or Roy bair come close. He does sort of need it though, close to every character in this game need a grimy option for clutch/cheese factor
Yeah a sweet spot that strong and a semi spike? Feels good the be a Byleth main That being said it’s hit box isn’t the most forgiving and reading jumps with it at ledge to be able to kill at 60 is pretty hard.
Yeah, Byleth it's so good killing in low percentages but his problem it's the frame data. It's so hard to play against characters such as ZSS or the Aegis
I'm amazed that the threat of Leo's Joker stopped Dabuz from counterpicking Leo's Byleth with Min Min. We don't see Joker in this match but his sheer presence alone is limiting Dabuz's options.
@@zexoidx lol, this guy loves telling to other pepole they just don't know what camping is🤣 One of the 3 mains of Dabuz is Min-Min. Anything else to say?
@@zexoidx uuh I'm so sorry God of Smash, I'll never call a campy player camper again☹☹ Dabuz playstyle is campy. Even if he camped a little bit less than usual, he stays 80% of time far from the opponent waiting for him to do the first move. Sorry, but if this isn't camping, I don't know how to call it.
I think it’s a testament to how well balanced this game is. I think byleth is a high-mid tier but unlike most other games mid tiers in ultimate are still good characters.
Leo being Leo. Picked up Joker when a majority were sleeping on him, everyone started crying for nerfs. Picked up Byleth when everyone and their mother thought Byleth was mid tier at best (then again some did argue he was mid-high) and is putting in a lot of work using em. Dunno if we'd ever reach a point where people would start crying for Byleth nerfs, not like it matters now, but it's good to see Leo doing what he does best.
Commentators, if ure not ready to comment for the goat of smash then just let any1 else comment. I hate when they want Leo to lose so hard and start being salty, dude, Leo is at the top and he'll be there for a while u like it or not, just respect that...
Feel like the game was going really slow when dabuz had advantage in the first game but then Leo just started to change the momentum and it was very interesting to see
Looks like Byleth is finally teaching Smash Bros players how to actually read frame data sweet As an FGC guy, i dropped my BaeCina for Byleth on DLC Day 1 just from looking at their frame data and unique characteristics. At the time Shulk was the only other character who had such insane Range/Speed ratio in the game but he's too much work In any fighter i play, i like to play a read-and-react style which Byleth is tailor made for. Plus as Lucina i got tired of being edgeguarded so once i switched to Byleth, i became the reversal monster and rarely worried about being edgeguarded again Byleth being top tier was so apparently obvious from someone who has seen and analyzed top tiers in fighters for many many years. They can control space with the best of them but the Failnaught, Sword of the Creator and that fuckin Nair of the Gods are the jank that really ties this character together TLDR: Yo smash bros players! Not every character is designed to run forward and pusj buttons!
Rosalina is 7'3. She would look like a giant compared to almost anyone. Not to mention she generally tends to floats, which makes her feel even taller. It's crazy how tall that woman is.
It’s just the Mario characters’ proportions being different than the human characters, really. Put her next to ZSS and you’ll notice for maybe the first time just how much bigger her head is
@@KevSB07 Well, yeah. But even without factoring proportions the woman is 7'3. To give you a real life metric to comprehend what i'm saying, Shaquille O'Neal is 7'1. Rosalina is literally taller than Shaq.
It’s insane how almost all of Leo’s characters have 3-0’d all of Dabuz’ characters (someone fact check me on this I don’t remember early ultimate that well) super props to Leo, this guy is a bracket demon to Dabuz as much as he is to Maister
I know dabuz thinks min min is dead and all but if Leo says that is his worst match up by far, I say take the chance since it will give you SOME advantage against Leo instead of the Rosa, plus your gonna force him to swap of his main, yes we know the joker is clutch but still any thing to help give you some advantage
I mean the Min Min was 6-0’d by Leo’s joker before the nerfs. There’s really not much reason for confidence in that. Besides, he was doing good with Rosa; he started the first two games with a stock lead and just dropped it. It he could just be more consistent during the games he could definitely beat the Byleth with Rosa. That being said he’s still probably likely to lose if Leo counterpicks to Joker or Aegis
I hate every last fibre about Rozalina. But massive respect for Dabuz. I do think he should have switched. I think he assumed he got it down after 2 games. But unfortunately it was Leo who got it down.
Y'all need to stop being thirsty for the ad revenue. I feel like I watch 10 seconds of matchup to watch 10 seconds of ads. I get that this is a source of income, but you're going to be scaring people away with this.
Leo losses to min min dabuz, but 30 mins later he be Destroyed 6-0 in GRANDS. Dabuz was not going to escape no matter what character he will , Joker is very good against his 3 characters too.
Honestly, this set was really competitive despite it being a 3-0. Best case scenario with Min Min is he gets a game, forces a Joker switch, and gets clapped. But he couldn’t get it done with Min Min last time anyway, and that was before the nerfs.
