I'm saving this video just for that AND for 9:03. Really, just take a look. Of the 2 stocks being taken in the seconds afterward, which would you say was far more hype? Clever usage of reflector into a killing aerial? Or pressing 1 button? Pretty funny stuff
This is the difference of a veteran top player being able to clutch wins out regardless of the horrible situation you're in. Yonni couldn't come up any answers after his Steve flowcharts weren't working
Corny-ass online Steve plays can’t beat top player fundamentals this time. I’m interested to see how well Steve will do offline in the US, but I’m predicting it’ll at least be noticeably worse than online rn. The clutch factor will be noticeably more important, which favours players like Larry ofc
@@yonniFr oh cool you're a Larry viewer, hope you hear me out in my reply. Note how I never insulted you personally in my comment, I said corny-ass Steve plays*. Nor did I say you have no fundamentals, nor did I say you're carried. Sorry but regardless of what you say, walking in with Uptilt and Jab and aerial minecart or block camping is corny. Is that how the character is designed to play? Yeah definitely, but I can still have the opinion that it's corny. If you consider that talking the most shit idk what to tell you, other than that a lot of other people whether randos or top players say much worse. Sorry for your unlucky placement in the tourney, but I'd rather have a proven veteran player who uses spacies in SWT than you, just as a viewer. If you want to prove my prediction about offline Steve results declining wrong, good luck I'll be a keeping an eye on Steve results.
@@yonniFr sorry, i dont mean any hate towards you. you play at a level i could only dream of, but still, idk. steves playstyle is one that benefits more from online thsn other characters, since steve can play so passive and force approaches. also, larry lurr has been a consistent top player for a while, and while you have significant tourney results as well, the majority of them are online (AFAIK). maybe im wrong, it was probably arrogant of me to write you off like that and assume that larry would automatically win offline. im not that good at smash, so my opinion probably doesnt carry much weight compared to yours
Yonni's first 2 games were amazing, but Larry came thru. Yonni also seemed to have struggled when Larry adapted. Ah well, while I'm glad to see offline Falco, looks like offline Yonni shall wait. I know Yonni went to a local, but that doesn't have the same impact. Good stuff here!
Minecraft steve getting his joy and opportunity taken away* kinda crazy to think about how this was easily the biggest chance at success he will ever have and he blew it completely cause he can't land a back air. Either way this vod doing numbers lol
Yonni must have felt absolutely horrible for that loss, but props to Larry. That type of comeback is not easy at all. I would have given up in game 3 after the first stock.
Feel absolutely horrible? For what? Its a game and he lost to very skilled and respectable player. Getting reverse 3 stocked is not common but that doesnt mean that if someone is about to do it you just ragequit. Hold the L and move on
@@loadingname5499 i mean he didn't rage quit. When ppl put more of their effort and passion into a game, it evolves into smth more for them and at this lvl of play, that will be more common than not.
@@loadingname5499 I mean he wants to prove himself as something other than Wifi Steve and this would've bee the perfect way to do it but his dreams were literally crushed when he lost it literally one kill awa fron qualifying. That's not something you just shrug off ya know.
@@billy9707 yeah, the loss will hurt but he lost to someone who compeats for 15 years, Yonni entered sth thie big for the first time in his life. The stress prob murdered him and then the aftermath
@@loadingname5499 well yeah, game 3 was a morale crusher, something that's hard to comeback from. Yonni had like four game 5 sets before this so the stress would've gotten to anyone without a lot of tourney experience. Not to mention this was the last game he needed in order to qualify
Larry a beast and I'm super happy he won but DAMN Yonni's Steve is DANGEROUS the way he was playing mind games w Larry by baiting him to attack when he was going to use the work table and receiving him w a redstone minecart to the face, also the block plays and the edgeguarding, Steve a dangerous ass character in the right hands.
This reminds me of those anime Pokémon battles where Ash’s Pokémon is/are struggling and then Ash says something *~inspirational~* and they randomly get a second wind
@letter q I don't want to come off biased because I hate fighting Steve, but it's a very flowchart character. Yonni was unable to deal with Larry's adaptation, as minecarting in disadvantage and abusing the strength and speed of back air constantly only takes you so far against someone good. I know Steve isn't the only spammy character, but Steve is akin to Min Min in that optimal usage of the character is just annoying to deal with and boring to watch. Now yes, that's opinion but I base it in the lack of difference you see in Steve gameplay out of the trillions there are. You see some different setups now and then, but really it's just up tilt until it lands and then carry your enemy to 60%. Again, not the only character, but still cringe.
@letter q And hey, as a variety player but heavy main, a lot of people say cargo carry on DK is just as annoying, so I can't knock you for it. I do find the character cool. Just not optimal play of the character. I was as happy as anyone when he got announced, but then played against him and hate it lol.
Really entertaining and intense set to watch, but I feel like TK was a bit biased in the commentary. Great commentary from the two still, but just something that popped up in my mind watching.
Listen, Yonni could very well be a great player. He could be a great person with tons of hours and tech, but I can’t respect the Steve, I hate watching Steve, it just feels like a one player game, where he does the same option no matter what you do
I think thats the little brother type of steve players most steve fights ive seen they rearly use Minecart and there is some pretty crazy tech with steve and set ups with tnt its pretty entertaining when steve players do something other then side b
Ok now honestly, I was really rooting for yonni and I believe they both played good. I could see that yonni started doing things at the wrong time and was also scared to approach larry, larry got the download real quick too jeez. GGs both sides, ggs.
