I like to think you can tell a lot about an artist by the way they portray eyes in their work. Seeing Syd's art, I can see that the eyes he draws are very arresting and captivating, often they draw your attention before anything else. I think this is interesting given his own eyes were similar in that sense- it's the first thing most people notice about him.
"Mum says it will take about a week for the boiler to heat any more water. Mum was very cross. She hit me. I cried." Looks like he drained the hot water tap to get some cold water, instead of just using the cold tap! In the UK, we don't have unlimited hot water, like in the US. Instead, we had a small tank with an immersion heater, which took half the day to heat the water. Once it was gone, it was gone! Also VERY expensive to use, so his poor Mum had a canary LOL
The image of the boy is so amazing and i luv the pitted flowers fading to leaves the long walk ways ...he def was on his own journey .haunting art by this beautiful brilliant genius .
His visual art is better than I thought it would be. I would love to see what he could have created if he chose to go in this direction, although that would mean such a huge loss to music. I like to listen to the early Floyd as I draw and paint, so this video was a very interesting trip. I think Syd would have been great on any creative path.
Syd aka Roger was an artiste and like many before and after decided to dedicate his last years to visual art...so many like Syd...Cobain Mellencamp Slick and Captain Beefheart to name a few

Great choice of music for your video. Just curious , where were the photos of his art from? His estate when he passed away? Very interesting, very talented man.
