Amazing performance by Jennifer Garner, easily her best throughout the series. The way she’s whispering while yelling to hold back and avoid making a scene, and convey such heartbreak and feeling of betrayal.

For me, they couldn’t have picked a better actress to portray the role of Sydney Bristow. She really put herself into her character and was willing to do all the physical training and stunts to make it more convincing. I simply love her self discipline and passion for acting!
She was on Felicity as Noel's long-distance ex .she did a couple episodes titled "Thanksgiving" and "the fugue". That was during the 1st season! And then a couple more might've been the 4th season JJ Abrams does shows pretty well apparently!

I do hate to admit it, but Vaughn did love Lauren, but not in the way that he loved Sydney. I think that Vaughn knew that he wouldn’t be able to love like that again. But he also knew that he had to move on with his life, which in truth is never easy. When you look at what we have learned about what Vaughn went through, after Sydney died, we realize a few things about him. After spreading Sydney’s ashes at sea, he left the CIA. He did not want to be in a place surrounded by people and places that reminded him constantly of Sydney. Vaughn even confessed to Sydney what he felt when he lost her; “I was so in love with you, it nearly killed me.” He also left the country for six months, to try and escape his misery that he was in. But finally he convinced himself that he needed to move on. In the back of his mind, I think he knew that he while he did have feelings for Lauren as he began dating her, but he could never love her like he loved Sydney. This may be one reason that he ended up marrying her so quickly after losing Sydney. He wanted a distraction from the misery and depression he had when thinking of Sydney. Looking back on his own words to Sydney; “After you died, I used to talk to you. Like you were still around… Literally out loud… Whole conversations about… About nothing… The weather…Should I get a new car? Should I have another drink? And one day, you started answering. I mean I could hear you in my head like you were right next to me Sydney. @@Fairychamber It's been a long while since I watched the show but I still would have believed him getting together with Lauren and marrying her if Lauren was someone he knew before Sydney... like imagine how much angst there would have been if he and Lauren were engaged and then they broke up and then after Sydney "dies" they ran into each other again and rekindled those old feelings (and you Laurens orders to seduce him... that was a thing right? and I'm not misremembering?) but this time they were ready for marriage?
It still pisses me off that Garner didn't win an Emmy for this role. When this show first aired back in 2001, I remember thinking this woman should WIN an Emmy! I was certain she'd win for Season 1 and was SORELY disappointed she did not. Then the voters had another chance with Season 2 and screwed it up again. I don't think she was nominated after that. That was around the time I gave up on the Emmys!
She was nominated 4 years. She was the favourite to win the Emmy for the "Pilot" in the first season and for this episode in the third season. But both years she was stolen by Janey (I love her, don't misunderstand me) for "The west wing".
alias is a very underated series, I did not watch the series when it first aired think it used to channel 4 , found the whole series on my android box and I love it.

Such an incredible scene besides her & Francie fighting this one takes the cake & is incredible acting.... I'm not a crier but this gets me everytime the gritted teeth, the facial expressions, the whispered voice well done! I'd love to know the back story to this or to see the bloopers......winning
"i am horrible." that was the moment i felt the most when watching this entire series. i've been there. i've lived through having an ex love check on you to check on themselves, and i didn't get to say that. i went along with it. this is more realistic than real life.

weird how i used to watch this scene when i was little and it didnt mean as much to me. but i experienced the same thing, someone didnt wait for me and actually got married while i spent all my time waiting... and we were still in love. now i watch this and it means so much more.
I felt for her so much at that point because she’s right had that happened to him she would have never given up on him. If you truly love someone so much how in such a short time can you move on. I just find that crazy.
What it comes down to is faith, I am horrible, Vaughn, I am ripped apart, but because ......and then she pauses...if it had been me............just watch her face,....man that is acting.........I would have waited there is so much power in that scene....I would have waited.......and in the background.......the music.
after sydney's speech about what a waste it would've been if she had waited, this was my face when i saw it the first time -> :-O she kicked his ASS in that scene lol you can't really blame him for moving on. but not even two years and having found someone new, and MARRIED that someone new...it does seem very quick. love alias :D
If you watch the deleted scenes of this season, when they find out Lauren's a mole they also find the brain washing sign in Vaughn's eyes. The same one that was in Wills when he was brain washed by the fake Francie. They were going to have it that Vaughn was brain washed by Lauren and that's why he moved on so quickly, but then they felt that if he did it on his own there is more conflict to explore between him and Sydney and a bigger sense of betrayal for him to get over.
I had such a crush in this woman back then. She's is beautiful in any way. Inside and outside. Mrs Affleck fuck up. The part she did, that she would wait for him... I think in real life she is like that. She is beautiful... Absolutely beautiful
The irony in how the lines of this scene would closely mimicked their personal lives later on. Only the roles would be reversed. From what I've read, Michael Vartan was one broken man. He was in a "horrible" place and felt "ripped apart" after Jennifer dumped him to be with Ben, and this lasted for quite some time.
@@gidgetdarcy Exactly... Like you need at least a year of grief and depression. And then spend the next year trying to pull yourself back together. Sure maybe you can start dating again in that year of pulling yourself back together just because people are messy and stupid. You technically not ready to get yourself back out there, so you'll ruin someone by pretending that you are. So after that experience and hopefully some therapy, the third year you can date someone forreal. But no, this clown said that he was grieving then started having a mental breakdown, and then immediately found someone and got married?? The math ain't mathing. He moved on with swiftness. I just can't imagine loving someone as much as he claims to love her and being married within two years. It would take at least two years before I would even feel ready to date again. He has no excuse.
It's weird how in the final season of Alias Sydney does up in Vaughn's position yet she does the complete opposite of what he did to her. I know that guys but let's face it we all knew they would end up getting back together in the end making everything worth it.
Really, he moved on pretty quick! Especially with all the circumstances of Sydney going missing. Two years is not that long to meet, fall in love, and get married - Especially with such a stressful career.
They spent so much time together before they became " to gether" yet he married that other woman so quickly it's sort of irrational but after everything she's been through she also has every right to be angry

Amazing. Love these 2. Such emotion. But i always felt that syd was too harsh. Its not like she was just missing. She was believed dead dead, like there was dna. What if danny popped up and said this shit to her, how long did she wait after her fiance died before she was sending side eyes at vaughn and falling madly in love with him. Tgat being saud. Wtf not even 2 years and hes married, did she fake a pregnancy! Why couodnt he gave just been newly engaged.
Alias has been my top favorite female action hero show ,because of the fighting scenes and relationships I give praised to this show ,because of Jennifer fucking garner.
