The Sydney Swans are an AFL football club established in 1874 and were known as South Melbourne until 1982, when they relocated to Sydney. They played in the VFA until the breakaway completion (VFL) was established. They were apart of the original 8 teams to join the VFL in 1897. Since then they have gone on to win 5 premierships, them being the 1909, 1918, 1933, 2005 and 2012 VFL/AFL Grand Finals. The Swans finished 3rd on the AFL ladder in 2022 and are looking ripe for another flag. Despite being demolished in the Grand Final, they are still a strong side. The pattern tells us that they will be traumatised from that game and see a slow recovery, finishing around 6th-7th, but they could surprise us and finish on top, possibly a flag favourite.
