Fantastic vlog Phil! Such an amazing sight to see! It does however highlight the constant issue on NSW railways of broken down freight trains constantly disrupting passenger trains.
Grant Goldman "CityRail regrets the delay and apologises for any inconvenience caused". I miss the V Sets and the whistling sound of their breaks. Many fond memories. Great video.
I will miss these trains when they scrap them. The smell of the interior, whistles, hissing, brake wining brings me back memories going to the blue mountains in these trains.
There were also delays on the T1 Western Line affecting services to Penrith, Richmond and the Blue Mountains due to urgent track equipment repairs at Westmead caused the Mount Victoria service to arrive at its destination 95 minutes behind schedule
Where did the 16 carriages come from, Flemo yard or newcastle. Plus how many v.sets can they join together 16 24 or 32, maybe 40 do you know. Because I know that the most 600-700 class can only join 4 sets ie 8 cars together. So please tell of you know thanls
Oh yes I saw that near wolli creek platform 3 today or maybe not but it had red at the front and was a little flatter and rounder than the other trains...wow ..can you tell me maybe what id seen today the thirteen of June
Why does DIM8069 have such a loud motor? I’ve ridden in this carriage many times and it’s a nightmare when trying to catch a morning nap. And why don’t you hear the motor all the time in trains? Like here, you hear it turn off for a bit.
Dude I saw one of these trains at wolli creek platform 3 today .. But it didn't come here just to the left OMG did I see something rare? It had red at the Front? Wow
when you go to melbourne, could you pleeeeeeaaaaaaassssssseeeeee film watergardens station, with at least one siemens, comeng, vlocity, and vline locomotive. thanks!
+C. Leung platforms 1,2,3 at central are just really long. They are mainly used for the long distance trains and their very long length is a relic of a bygone era where interstate trains were up to 16 carriages long.
Platforms 1, 2 and 3 are in regular use for long distance services for the indian pacific, xpt's, xplorers and the occasional use by specials such as steam tours. Only on weekday mornings does platforms 4 and 5 get used by long distance services due to the amount arriving and leaving around 730 am.
The only time you can get to see them in return for your birthday would have been to you and return your home for your birthday or a day off your day home or not at your home or your birthday and you there
so why would the ABC buy sydney tarins. no 1 the ABC runs there stations clean and efficiency. no 2 the ABC runs multiple things such as radio and T.V.
There's nothing wrong with them. They're trains, not sports cars. The V sets are the only electric sets that can go past Springwood and service the mountains (up to Lithgow). They're pretty much all due for replacement in a couple of years' time, anyway.
Shame, really. Love the V-sets and have chosen to catch them by swapping at Central vs taking another limited stop service that goes through there. I must say I preferred them with their 'blue face' than this look, however.
