6:45 - Add Soft - The "I dare you to knock it off my shoulder" bit is a direct reference to the American commercials for Eveready batteries, starring Robert Conrad. Those commercials were even spoofed by Johnny Carson, on "The Tonight Show".
Oh yes, that Jif ad ran into the eighties. I always remember getting a giggle at the finger caressing the bottle. Is that Anne Tenney from A Country Practice in that ad at 7:18?
Yes I remember that ad like all through the 80s and used to run my fingers on the sink after mum cleaned it and she would tell me to go away. I loved imitating that ad. Lololol.
The U-matic tapes were TV broadcast recordings recorded by Castle Hill, Sydney Catholic College media teachers. They sometimes included TV station promos. All recordings via a TV antenna.

I reckon that Jif ad (missing the ice skater at the beginning) ran for a number of years. My memory is not the best but I swear it was still going in at least the mid 80's. Thanks very much for the upload.
